All permits will be supplied by the contractor and all work will be completed to building code by certified and licensed contractors and sub-contractors. Anyone who is going to work on the premises gives a copy of his VALID license to the owner before work begins. It is the owner’s legal right and obligation to demand that your contractor carry valid insurance, which covers you in case of any accidents on the job site. Contractors may threaten to not do work on your property if you demand insurance but you (the owner) would not want someone like that working on your property. Anyone who is going to work but has an expired, invalid, or no license must obtain a temporary valid license from the city officials. Visit the local city hall or city website for more information.

Project Dates:

The Provincial Government recently passed Bill 180 which protects home owners. This bill voids any contract if the contractor is more than 30 days late in delivering the work and the owner is eligible to receive compensation. Work these dates out ahead of time keeping them reasonable but definite.
