Saturday 5 NovemberWorking Bee Crunch n SipThe weather is starting to warm up and this is a good opportunity to remember for

our students to stay hydrated as they lose fluid running around and being active

Over these warmer months a cold drink bottle is ideal for hydration but also keeps

lunchbox food items cool The recommended daily amounts of fluid for children

and adolescents are

5 cups (12 litre) for 4 shy 8 year olds

5shy6 cups (14shy16 litres) for 9 shy 13 year olds

6shy8 cups (16shy19 litres) for 14 shy 18 year olds

A cup is 250 ml

More water is needed if children are exercising or sweating due to heat

Daily Crunch amp Sip time in the morning sessions is another opportunity to stay

hydrated Students who are not hungry and are well hydrated perform better in the

classroom and show increased concentration Involve your child in choosing the

fruit amp veg that you buy at the supermarket Remind them that they need to choose

fruit amp veg that can be eaten easily and eaten raw Use this as an opportunity to

discuss different types of fruit amp vegetables and encourage them to try unfamiliar

ones

Daily Crunch amp Sip time in the morning sessions is another opportunity to stay

hydrated Students who are not hungry and are well hydrated perform better in the

classroom and show increased concentration Involve your child in choosing the

fruit amp veg that you buy at the supermarket Remind them that they need to choose

fruit amp veg that can be eaten easily and eaten raw Use this as an opportunity to

discuss different types of fruit amp vegetables and encourage them to try unfamiliar

ones

Lost PropertySpring weather gives us cool mornings and warm days however it does mean we

have an increased amount of lost property with the students taking jumpers off

when playing outdoors

Please ensure your childs name and class is on all hats jumpers and lunchboxes

With the class added to all items returning belonings will be much easier A

suggestion is to purchase iron ons and stickers with the class each year placing

the 2017 class names over the top Iron on stickers can be ordered through

companies such as Simply Stuck Cashs or Stuck on You Ordering Group photosOnline ordering of the groups photos may be ordered until 4 November 2016 To
