Consider the following: !According to the SBA, 23 million small businesses account for 54% of all sales, 55% of all jobs and 66% of all net new jobs since the 1970’s. !5.5% (about 900,000 people) went from being unemployed to small business owners in 2011 !

Additionally, small businesses created about 8.7 million new jobs between March of 2011 and March of 2012, and according to The Washington Post, a growing contingency of economists believe that startups are the most reliable job creators. !But starting a small business is not without its challenges. About half of all small businesses created survive five years. And most of those that close their doors do so for the same reasons: !

• Lack of a business plan and strategy • Lack of an elevator pitch to help sell their business • Inability to attract and retain customers • Lack of understanding of financials • Inability to manage cash flow. !

Business Bootcamp is a new reality competition designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs overcome these challenges and launch a successful startup. The Host!

The Program!Business Bootcamp is a reality competition show designed to educate aspiring business owners on key aspects of operating a business, and give them the opportunity to compete for prizes to help them launch their business. Unlike other reality shows, the focus will not be strictly on the drama (though I am certain there will be plenty of that), but instead will focus on the contestants learning the skills needed and putting them into practice. Experts in the topic of each challenge will present workshops to help prepare contestants, and they must take what they have learned and use it to compete in each episode. Challenges will build on each other, requiring contestants to put what they have learned to use, think on their feet, plan for the unexpected and problem-solve at every turn. Contestants will be given a prepaid card loaded with their budget for the show at the start of the competition. They must budget appropriately and plan ahead in order to compete. Money raised in each challenge will be added to the card, building the budget and teaching them to manage their cash flow and plan for unforeseen circumstances. Each episode a contestant will be sent home, until 3 remain to compete in a challenge that will test all of their skills…planning and executing a fundraising event in 72 hours. !In addition to the regular episodes, each of the workshops presented to the contestants will be filmed and made available on the show website and to the show sponsor for use on their website and/or mobile apps. This provides valuable tool to aspiring entrepreneurs nationwide and expands the sponsor’s reputation as a resource to trust for small business owners.

Marketing Objectives!

Business Bootcamp provides a great sponsorship opportunity to brand your business, reach a large pool of both aspiring and existing business owners, provide special content to your existing customers, and promote yourself as a resource to the small business community. To reach those objectives, as sponsor you would receive: !Presenting Sponsor Credits: You would be listed as the presenting sponsor on the broadcast version of the show. Our current distribution has the potential to reach over 50 million households across the United States, through public and local stations nationwide, with plans to promote the show to additional stations and further expand the broadcast audience. !Digital Distribution: In a recent study 51% of people said that they watched some of their TV online, 8% watched most and 5% watched all of their programs on a device other than a television. With 64% of viewers watching online, a digital presence is key to marketability. Business Bootcamp will be available to viewers through online platforms including Blip.tv, Web Series Channel, Placevine, TownSpot, and I-Tunes, and will be submitted to Netflix, Hulu and KoldCast. Your logo and branding on these shows ensures that you get noticed in online distribution !Workshops: In addition to the 13 episodes of the series, we will also be creating a series of 9 workshops to train contestants in key business skills. These workshops will also be presented by our sponsor, and will be available on the show website, and will be provided for the sponsor for their own website and digital distribution as well. This can provide a great educational resource for your customers, inspire loyalty and establish you as a resource businesses can trust. !DVD Distribution: DVDs of the first season and the workshops will be available. These will be branded with your logo and you will also have the opportunity to include promotions or special offers inside the DVD packaging. As the sponsor you would be able to purchase DVDs at 60% off retail (as opposed to the 40% wholesale discount), to sell to your customers. !Press and Marketing Materials: Sponsor would be included on all press and marketing materials as well as on all ads that run to promote the program. !Other Opportunities: Of course as the show sponsor, you would be featured on the show’s website, with links to your site included there.
