• Business process mapping refers to activities involved in defining what a business entity does, who is responsible, to what standard a business process should be completed, and how the success of a business process can be determined.
• A process map describes a series of steps or actions which deliver an output
• The main purpose behind business process mapping is to assist organizations in becoming more efficient. A clear and detailed business process map or diagram allows outside firms to come in and look at whether or not improvements can be made to the current process.
• It takes a specific objective and helps to measure and compare that objective alongside the entire organization's objectives to make sure that all processes are aligned with the company's values and capabilities.
Business Process Mapping
Mapping Process State
Current state
Ideal state
Future state
• Also known as Present State Map• The "Present State" process chart or map shows the "real"
process as it presently exists.• The real process is what actually happens on the retail shop
o Current state
o Ideal state• An "Ideal State Map" Is Useful And Easy To Construct.
• An Ideal Process Has No Waste So We Simply Take The "Current State" Map And Eliminate Non-value Adding Events.
• The Ideal State Map Helps Us To Focus On The Value Added Events.
• It Provides A Benchmark
o Future state• With current and ideal state maps, a team has a deep and common
knowledge of the process. • Their next task is to identify improvements and illustrate them with a
"Future State" map.• A future state map bridges the gulf between the current and ideal
states.• It incorporates the realities of technical limits, budgets and time.• Developing a future state map is often easy. because they identify
problems and find solutions

STEPS:
• In This Step, First We Have To Find Out What Process Is To Be Mapped
• The purpose of this step is to gain a full understanding of all the steps of a process
• Its Like Determining The
Boundaries• EXAMPLE:
Where Does A Process Begin?
Where Does A Process End?
1:Process Identification
• After the identification , it is very important to gather the information for the process .
• Like listing down the parameters according to the process.
Example : supplies, inventory.
• Identifying the key responsibilities of the process area and who is responsible for those actions
• identifying every task and every decision.
• In this step, this contain
Inputs: This is whatever enters something into the process. This can include resources (people), materials, and equipment (software). Be specific by listing out types of materials, names of reports or queries, software being used
Outputs: This is whatever is produced as a result of this action;
the key deliverables of each activity including both products and services as applicable.
2: Information Gathering
3: Analyzeo Analysis should be occurring throughout the process. each step in
each process and evaluate it thoroughly. o Listing of the process in proper sequenceo If a step does not add value to the process, ask yourself why it is
being performed.
• Can it be eliminated, combined, or the effort reduced?
• Does each step of the process support the overall business objectives?
• Is there any role or responsibility ambiguity?
• Where are the delays between steps?
• After identification, gathering and analyzing the process the implementation is done.
• execution of a plan, idea, model, design, specification, standard are done in this step
• Once complete, the team can measure results in several ways.
• The simplest is to count the symbols and construct a frequency percent histogram
• This is a effective metric. Elapsed time, labor hours or cost might also be used
4:Implementation
1. Identification- The Information Identification Means Identifying What Is Need Of Customer What Can Help To Increase The Sales And Profit And What Can Be Done.
Therefore Our Team Identified That Our Shop Should Be In The Market Area With Family Shop I.E Children, Men's And Women's Wear All Together
2. Information Gathering-After The Identification Of The Process Then We Started With What Should Be Our Inventories And Supplies And After Gathering The Information We All Came To The Point That Western ,Ethnic, Casuals Wear Should Be Kept For All
3. Analyzing After All The Gathering We Started Analyzing Of The Situation And Started With More Offers Like Discount , Vouchers For Increasing The Sales In Shop
4. Implementations After All The Steps Implementation Is Most Important Because The Ideas We Got To Increase The Sales That Had To Be Implemented
