The Park Covers 172,971 acres of landIt is located in Miami-Dade Country in Florida,

United States.Although has key in the name, is not

considered to actually be part of the Florida Keys and instead is made from parts of the Appalachian Mountains

President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the bill for Biscayne to be a national park on October 18, 1968.

The Difference between Biscayne and Rhode Island is 603,986 acres. RI is larger.

The National Park of Biscayne is a beautiful place surrounded with the multi-colored shades of blue of the Atlantic Ocean. Biscayne National Park is a very diverse place. Four distinct ecosystems melt into one another creating rich edge communities, or "ecotones." These edges support an incredible array of wildlife, including hundreds of species of colorful fish, plants found nowhere else in the United States, and visitor favorites like pelicans, manatees and turtles. Winds, currents, storms and the park's close proximity to one of the nation's largest urban areas means that the entire park is in a constant state of flux — ever-changing in the face of  new challenges posed by the constant cycle of building and destruction.

What Makes it Amazing

Scuba DiveSnorkleWindsurfing*Special events throughout the year offers families a great opportunity to learn about the park altogether. On the second Sunday of each month from December through April, the park hosts Family Fun Festival to let families know more about the park.

They will enjoy snorkeling in the bay or on the coral reef, poking along the rocky shoreline at the Convey Poing, and canoeing along the park’s mangrove coast.

The Dante Fascell Visitor Center has great exhibits to help kids learn about Biscayne’s world.

Provides opportunities for one-on-one learnng with a park ranger.

Kids can be a Junior Ranger and learn more about the park by completing adventures to earn a badge.
