• Borderline Personality Disorder is characterized by a pervasive pattern of instability, most evident in relationships, mood, and sense of Identity.
• SAME AS THE DEFINITION!!!!!!.
• The perception of impending separation or rejection, or the loss of external structure, can lead to profound changes in self-image, affect, cognition, and behavior.

ETIOLOGY
• Researchers show that the cause of Borderline Personality Disorder is likely from:
• Genetics
• Child Abuse
• But This is a theory!!

PREVALENCE
• In the United States:
• 75% of females are diagnosed with BPD
• 20% is from Psychiatric Hospitization
• 30-60% clinical population, in general, has BPD

TREATMENT
• People with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) has only two treatment.
• Medication- prescription pills
• Psychotherapy- someone to talk to and help with how the person came up with the disorder, and help try to fix it.

PROGNOSIS
• Ten years of being Hospitalize, 86% of the patients recover 50% of BPD.
