‘’Opening New Haven’s Waterfront for Adventure, Discovery and Growth’’"CDBI runs indoor rowing programs at Metropolitan Business Academy, !

James Hillhouse High School, and Long Wharf Pier. On-water rowing for !New Haven Public School students is planned for September of 2015.

CDBI ROWING:

Opportunities for experienced scullers and sweep rowers could be offered in early June, and a learn-to-row program for novices shortly after. Upon launching on-water programs, CDBI will make available three 1-person rowing shells, two 4-person shells, and one 8-person shell. We’re still seeking two doubles, but hitting the water in any of the above shells will be a blast!

CDBI SAILING:

CDBI hopes to offer beginner, intermediate, and advanced lessons to children and adults in September of 2015. No prior sailing experience is necessary. Memberships will also be available to those with prior sailing experience who wish to sail a club dinghy or small keelboat. What better way to enjoy an afternoon than with a sail in New Haven Harbor!

OTHER CDBI BOATING & EDUCATION:

CDBI is considering future programs in kayaking, canoeing, paddle-boarding and even dragon-boating. And marine environmental education programs are planned for when the new facility opens in 2017, through an anticipated partnership with the University of New Haven.
