PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

In CA Compliance Manager UI,customers attempted to include parenthesis

in the test condition's value field. They wanted to write a policy

with test condition:

COMMAND=%UID(0) OR COMMAND=%MODE(

The current set up in Compliance Manager UI doesn't support using the

parenthesis in the value such as UID(0) or MODE(.

SYMPTOMS:

Using parenthesis in the value field of test conditions results in

the UI freezing up and not allowing the users to perform any other

action until they restart their tomcat servers.

IMPACT:

Users will not be able to use parenthesis in the value in test

condition, which may mean getting false positives alerts or reports.

CIRCUMVENTION:

Users can have multiple test conditions for one test case they want

to test. For example:

Instead of command=%UID(0), they can have

COMMAND=%UID AND COMMAND=%0

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

SYMPTOMS:

would not work.

IMPACT:

Chorus may generate errors, and Chorus Alerts will not be successfully

generated.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

This is the second in a series of PTFs that will deliver new functionality

and corrective maintenance to the CA Chorus Infrastructure Management (IM)

Discipline.

NEW FUNCTIONALITY:

o Provide sample JCL to define the external security definitions for

ACF2 (FAWI095A), RACF (FAWI095R), and Top-Secret (FAWI095T).

o Support for CSM 6.0 de-coupled configurations.

o New IMS objects: Dependent Regions and Transaction Times.

o Added Investigator tabs and navigational links on the IMS Control Regions

object for the new Dependent Regions and Transaction Times objects.

CORRECTIVE MAINTENANCE:

o Ensure only valid enumerated values can be entered in search filter.

o Change column formats for Active Time and Idle Time in the TCP

Connections display. Time formats are now of the form: Ýn dayÝs¨,¨

hh:mm:ss.tht.

o Correct the external labels for IP_BYTESIN and IP_BYTESOUT in the

locale file.

o Clicking on action-link "Show IP Traffic Rate Graphs" is throwing error.

o The sysview time-out are seen many times under the following cases:

- While loading the IM tree in the investigator.

- If the tree loads successfully, it is sometimes caused when clicking

on a tree node.

- While configuring a policy light, this is primarily caused by the

following never responding query.

o General Invest NavActions QuickLink issues.

o Query errors when filtering in Investigator.

JBOSS TAKES OVER 100 MIN TO COME UP

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

The CA Chorus JBoss started task takes over 100 minutes to complete

initialization

SYMPTOMS:

JBoss takes a long time (over 100 minutes) to complete initialization.

The following messages in the server-ebcdic.log are repeated 100 times,

once every minute:

Cannot connect to JBoss Admin Management, probably it is not started yet.

Will reattempt after a short delay.

java.io.IOException: java.net.ConnectException: JBAS012174: Could not connect

to remote:xxx.xxx.xxx:nnnn. The connection failed

JBoss is not ready yet. Proceed with Chorus bootstrap after a short delay.

Further investigation revealed that the customer had changed the password

for the default keystore file that is included with IBM's Java JDK (in

$JAVA_HOME/lib/security/cacerts)

IMPACT:

JBoss takes much longer to complete initialization than is necessary.

CIRCUMVENTION:

If you change the password for the default keystore, add the following

lines to CETJOPTN(ENVETJ):

IJO="$IJO -Djavax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword=newpassword"

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

In CA Chorus, message ETJGU002E appears intermittently on the CA Chorus

dashboard while working on Investigator.

SYMPTOMS:

Message ETJGU002E appears intermittently on CA Chorus dashboard while working

on Investigator, stating that the server or network connection is not

available, even though the connection is available. After dismissing the

error, the user can continue working in the application.

IMPACT:

Message ETJGU002E appears intermittently on the CA Chorus dashboard, and the

user has to dismiss this error message in order to continue working in the

application.

FIRST SECURITY TREE LOAD TAKES LONG TIME

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

In CA Chorus Investigator, the Security discipline tree takes a long time to

load the first time a user logs in. It is observed that it takes about 4

minutes to completely render the tree in the UI. Subsequent loads are quick

in the same session. The tree remains fully functional and does not cause any

further issues.

SYMPTOMS:

An spinning image is shown in the tree panel during this time.

IMPACT:

The user has to wait until the tree loads completely. Subsequent

functionality is not affected.

CIRCUMVENTION:

No circumvention.

CETJLOGS FILE SYSTEM IS TOO SMALL

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

In CA Chorus, the default allocation for the CETJLOGS dataset

created either by ETJI0101 job or CA CSM SCS configuration is

smaller than the expected space required for the dataset.

SYMPTOMS:

In the JESMSGLG of CHORJBOS the following message may appear:

"IOEZ00312I Dynamic growth of aggregate YOUR_HLQ.CETJLOGS in progress,

(by user CHORADM)."

In some cases, the volume where the dataset is located may be full. In this

case, CHORJBOS processing stops. The JESMSGLG may contain

"Caused by: java.io.IOException: EDC5133I No space left on device."

IMPACT:

The smaller size may produce inefficient multiple extents for the dataset.

The out of space condition will cause CHORJBOS processing to stop.

CIRCUMVENTION:

To increase the space allocation of CETJLOGS to (600,50), perform the

following steps when the CHORJBOS is down

1. Unmount the CETJLOGS file system.

2. Delete the CETJLOGS file system.

3. Allocate, format and mount the CETJLOGS file system with the new value

at the logs mount point.

You can use ISHELL or OMVS to do the unmount of CETJLOGS file system and for

steps 2 and 3 you can use job ETJI0101 from the configured CETJJCL library,

it has the necessary constructs for operating upon CETJLOGS zFS.

If using ETJI0101, ensure only CETJLOGS file system is being deleted,

allocated, formatted and re-mounted with an expanded space.

TITLE:

Error using Security Command Manager

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

In CA Chorus for Security and Compliance Management a portion of the meta

data required for the Security Command Module is stored in a table in the

CIA database. The Security Command Module will not be functional if you do

not have access to the CIA database.

SYMPTOMS:

You receive the following error when you log in to CA Chorus. After

dismissing the error,you can continue working in CA Chorus but the

security command manager is not functional.

After you save a query as an Easytrieve report from the CA Chorus

Investigator with columns from related objects in the grid, if you submit

the Easytrieve job, no rows are returned.

SYMPTOMS:

No rows are returned in the Easytrieve report, and the query in the JCL

contains a syntax error for the column(s) from the related Object(s).

For example, a column from a related object would have a dot in its name

in the query as CHORUS_J0.SYSID as "SYSOFUSER.SYSID", which is incorrect.

IMPACT:

You cannot obtain results using the Easytrieve job.

In Policy Administration, after deleting a policy statement, policy

statements no longer appear to attach correctly to policy sets.

SYMPTOMS:

When attaching a policy statement to a policy set, the attached policy

statement does not appear in the list of attached policy statements.

IMPACT:

May cause unexpected results when leveraging affected policy sets.

CIRCUMVENTION:

Detach a policy statement from any policy set it is attached to before

deleting a policy statement. If a policy set has already been affected,

delete and recreate that policy set.

DUPLICATION OF ATTACHED POLICY STATEMENTS OR ACTIONS

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

In Administer Compliance Policy under Quick Links:

When modifying a policy set, if you detach a policy statement, then

reattach the same statement without committing the modification

inbetween, the policy statement attachment would be duplicated. This

also occurs with e-mail, WTOs, and service desk calls in Modify a

Policy Statement.

SYMPTOMS:

Duplicate policy statements attached to a single policy set, or

duplicate e-mail, WTO, or service desk actions attached to a single

policy statement.

IMPACT:

Product should continue functioning, but unexpected results may occur

with further modification or when utilizing the policy modified.

CIRCUMVENTION:

Deleting original and all duplicate instances of the policy statement

or e-mail, WTO, or service desk action, committing your modification

by clicking "Modify Policy Set" or "Modify Policy Statement" at the

bottom of the screen, then reattaching the desired policy statement,

e-mail, WTO, or service desk call.

DON'T DISPLAY ACTIONS WITHOUT DESCRIPTIONS WHEN MODIFYING

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

When selecting actions for deleting or modifying and specifying

* as a filter, the actions associated for include/exclude for

logger, warehouse, and data mart are made available.

These should not appear.

This also fixed some display problem with the Description.

When attaching an existing WTO, the Description field was wrong.

When creating a new EMAIL action within a statement,

the description field was blank.

SYMPTOMS:

The customer goes to the delete actions menu and sees

these actions that were not here before.

These should not by modifiable from these menus.

IMPACT:

One customer deleted them because he did not know what

they were, and the associated include or

exclude action stopped working.

CIRCUMVENTION:

Ignore any actions that say INCLUDE on them.

(Even the exclude say include on them in this display).

If you need to delete or modify an action without a description

it MUST be an EMAIL, WTO, Service Desk, or Chorus Alert

action so select the appropriate action type instead of *

and you can modify it.

All these actions should have a description, except

there was a bug that allowed some to be created without a

description.

ONLINE HELP,COLUMN,COMMAND IN TEST CONDITION

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

The links in the online help did not expand. The test conditions for

object access events had COLUMN defined in it, but the base component

for CMGR did not support it, hence causing issues when being used in

Simulate Variable substitution.

The Max Length for Command was only 8 bytes, which should be more.

SYMPTOMS:

The links in the online help did not expand. The test conditions for

COMMAND in test condition could not be completed.

IMPACT:

Having COLUMN in test condition could result in failure of loading

the component if it is used in policy that is attached.

Not all links in CMGR Online help were working.Unable to use the

complete command in test condition.

EXISTING RULE LINE DATA IS NOT PRESERVED WHEN MODIFYING RULE

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

When a user tries to modify some rule line data, only

the modified data is saved.

Any existing rule line data for the rule line is lost and

only the modified data is saved

NOTE: This change requires LDAPDV 185 to be installed as well.

SYMPTOMS:

When the rule line data is modified, the display will show some

data that used to be present is now gone.

IMPACT:

Users lose data for rule lines.

CIRCUMVENTION:

The user could delete and then reenter all rule line data each time

a change was required.
