Once the bids were opened they were checked for completeness. The winning bidder is Vance Construction which is the same contractor that did the Runway Rehabilitation project back in 2014. Their bid brings the total project cost to $1.59 million. Within a couple of days, the low bid was certified to be the "lowest, responsible bidder" at which time CCB prepared a Bid Award Recommendation along with an updated project budget and time-line then forwarded the documents to the FAA for their review. The FAA has acknowledged receiving the bid data. The FAA then requested additional information which was submitted to, and received by, the FAA. They have acknowledged that they have what they need and they are routing our project through their organization for the appropriate federal approvals. Once those approvals are obtained, the FAA will send CCB a Grant Authorization which is what CCB needs to proceed. Once the Grant Authorization is received, it will take two to three weeks to mobilize the contractor. Weather permitting, the project period is 120 days so CCB anticipates the project being completed by December 1st. Now we wait... again.

Club Meetings / Events

Cable Airportwishes you a

wonderful and safe4th of July!

In January 2020, CCB will be celebrating its 75th

anniversary and planning has begun for this momentous occasion. Many ideas have been floated as to the length and type of this community event that CCB will host including serious consideration to opening the north side of the airport for tenants, their friends and family and limiting the event to one day. YOUR INPUT AND HELP IS DESPERATELY NEEDED! The goal is to make this a fun, memorable event for the public AND our tenants. Please join us at 6 pm on Monday, July 15th in the Cafe. If you have any questions please feel free to call us at 909-982-6021.
