Advanced Battery Chargers
Cadex builds batteries and chargers to work in union for optimal performance and long life.
Battery and Charger . . .
go together like Horse and Carriage
Facts about Chargers . . .
Each battery chemistry requires its own charge algorithm.
A charger must be designed to safely charge batteries that are defective.
Temperature governs the speed by which a battery can be fast-charged.
Ultra-fast charging should only be applied at moderate temperatures.
The charger should limit the time the cell stays at an elevated voltages.
Cadex Battery Chargers
Charges Li-ion, NiMH, NiCd, 3.6V–15V; 1Ah–10Ah batteries Charge current from 50mA–3A, 15W and 25W per station 12–36VDC input, seamless step-down, step-up conversion Mixed chemistries, field-exchangeable battery adapters MIL1275 (DC), MIL704 (AC), UL/EN/CSA 60950-1, FCC, CE
UCC1, 25W UCC2, 25W UCC6, 15W
Intelligent Battery Adapters
UCC adapter includes a code to configure charger Services different battery types on multi-bay platform Field-upgradable by exchanging the adapter
Cold chargingLi-ion batteries can only be charged above freezing temperatures; nickel-based batteries should be trickle charged if below 5°C (41°F). The Cadex chargers provide the right service.
Hot chargingThe charger halts charge if Li-ion reaches 50°C (123°F). Nickel-based batteries resume charge after cool down and trickle charge when full.
Safety and redundancy
Advanced algorithms terminate the charge on incorrect voltages, mismatched cells and temperature extremes.
Inactive batteriesOver-discharge often render Li-ion batteries unserviceable. Boost enables a re-charge.
Calibration Discharge Maintains fuel gauge accuracy, prolongs nickel-based batteries.
