ROYAL NAVAL DOCKYARD 2011

There are numerous events in the Royal Naval Dockyard during the day and evening throughout the summer months for the entertainment of the Cruise Ship Passengers as well as our residents. The traditional Monday evening event, “Destination Dockyard” has been rebranded, “Royal Naval Nights” and is being organized by the West End Development Corporation and supported by the West End Development Corporation, The Department of tourism and RCI. This year’s event has increased in duration from 10 weeks in 2010, to 18 weeks and will commence on June 27

th from 7pm to 9.30pm. This will be a festival type

event with live entertainment comprising both local and cruise ship entertainers, traditional Bermudian vendors, food and drink stalls as well as our ever popular Gombey dancers.

Wedco will be hosting another evening event named “Heritage Nights” to be held in the Victualling Yard on Thursday evenings from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. This event intends to showcase Bermuda’s rich heritage and will be demonstrating everything from cricket to croquet, kite making to crown and anchor and much more. There will be local dancers, vendors and traditional food and beverages on offer. Heritage Nights will commence on May 26

th and run for 18 weeks.

In addition to the regularly scheduled events, there will be other one off events such as a Gospel concert, Reggae concert and family fun day the details of which will be advertised prior to the event. Our businesses in Dockyard are hosting a number of events throughout the summer months providing entertainment to all Dockyards guests.
