Doing for others and caring for the welfare of others earn the rewardfor which the whole world is seeking. That reward is happiness.

~Mae Carden

dear friends of Carden,

every year is an exciting year at Carden, and the 2015-2016 school year was no exception. after many months of diligent work we had our accreditation review, and we are proud to announce that we received a 7-year accreditation, the highestlevel. Going through the accreditation process allowed the board and staff to reflecton our strengths and opportunities, and it led us into an updated Carden strategicplan. it takes the whole Carden community working together with initiative and determination to continue moving forward in our goals.

We had such a joyful first year of PreK. it was so wonderful having these youngeststudents on campus, but more importantly, watching them grow and flourish asstudents leaves us with such satisfaction that we know the growth of our schoolwas the right move.

We also grew in physical size. . . . We are grateful for everyone who supported theJamboree in april; your idealism and generosity built our new pavilion. add to thatthe diligence of the Carden staff and our construction team led by artistic Builders, and we completed the Pavilion construction project on time and on budget. this isour first building project since taking ownership of the campus five years ago, andwe look forward with enthusiasm to what will be next.

as we look back on the past year, we realize that it is the excellence of our staff andstudents that really makes our school special. and it is the kindness and helpfulnessof our community that helps us continue to move forward and successfully grow.We thank you, our friends, our donors, our community for your confidence in ourschool and your support in achieving our goals. thank you for all you have doneand all that you continue to do so that we, Carden, can continue to live our missionevery day.

With gratitude,

nina sato dr. Heather Wittenbergschool director Board President

Carden is proud to an-nounce the completion ofour new pavilion, whichwas officially blessed onfriday, august 19 with aceremony performed byKahu Kalani Wong.  thepavilion is the first majorconstruction project forour school since purchas-ing the campus five yearsago.

our new pavilion is a beautiful addition to ourcampus. Both students andstaff were excited to usethe pavilion in this firstweek of school as an out-door class and lunch area.

the pavilion will be used asa safe pick up and drop offlocation for the students, shaded outdoor lunch andsnack area, Pe facility in inclement weather, a wel-coming area to campus, and many other uses. thepavilion was constructedby Artistic Builders, and itwas completed on schedule and on budget during the summer break. the walkwayson campus were also paved over the break to create a safer and more accessible campus. these projects were built with funds raised at the annual Carden Jamboreeand through grants and private donations.
