Day Details Hotel Nights

DAY 1: LOS ANGELES - ARRIVALWelcome to Los Angeles, one of the world’s most popular travel destinations and a leading center of entertainment, culture, fashion and sports. Upon arrival at Los Angeles International Airport use the Alamo shuttle outside the baggage claim area to retrieve your rental car and proceed to the Custom Hotel for your overnight stay.

DAY 2: LOS ANGELES – LOCAL TOURINGLand of screen stars and skyscrapers, Los Angeles has captured the imagination of the world. With a population of nearly 4 million people — making it the second largest city in America — Los Angeles is as famous for its urban sprawl as it is for its movie studios. Indeed, the Greater Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, which extends over 60 miles away from the city itself, is home to some 14 million residents, nearly one half of California’s total population of over 33 million. Enjoy your day at leisure in the City of Angels. We suggest a full-day visit to Walt Disney’s Magic Kingdom of Disneyland. Known as one of the top tourist attractions in Southern California, Disneyland attracts millions of visitors from all over the world and offers pleasures for young and old alike. Or, how about visiting one of the biggest movie studios and theme parks in the world, Universal Studios. Alternatively, simply discover LA, explore the stars on Hollywood Boulevard, take a walk on Venice Beach with its street vendors and artists or visit Beverly Hills with its famous star homes and exquisite shopping.

DAY 3: LOS ANGELES – PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY – MALIBU - SANTA BARBARA – PISMO/SHELL BEACHThis morning, you are free to get a true taste of Southern California before making your way along Pacific Coast Highway to Shell Beach. Glimpse some of the glitz and glamour of the City of Angels by checking out the Hollywood Walk of Fame where more than 2,400 stars are embedded in the sidewalk, Grauman’s Chinese Theater, the Sunset Strip, and Beverly Hills where you can watch for celebrity shoppers along Rodeo Drive. Explore the seaside communities of Marina del Rey, Santa Monica, home to one of California’s oldest pleasure piers, and Venice, whose boardwalk is famous for its Muscle Beach. Making your way north, Malibu and Oxnard offer views of beautiful stretches of coastline, and Ventura, located along the southern-most part of California’s Central Coast, is a classic beach town in a spectacular setting. Further north is Santa Barbara. Often described as the American Riviera, Santa Barbara was the original Hollywood in the glamorous twenties and is home to numerous celebrities. Visitors can enjoy the beach, bike the wharf, shop the boutiques in downtown, or step back in time at the Old Santa Barbara Mission. Continue through inland agricultural valleys of rolling countryside to Shell Beach where you can enjoy miles of beautiful and clean beaches and exploring tide pools.

DAY 4: PISMO/SHELL BEACH – HIGHWAY 1 – BIG SUR – 17-MILE DRIVE – MONTEREY – SAN FRANCISCOThis morning, make your way to San Francisco along California’s scenic Highway 1 offering breathtaking views of the Pacific coastline. A short distance inland from Shell Beach is the heart of the Central Coast, San Luis Obispo. Further north is Morro Bay, and as the road passes Hearst Castle the landscape mellows to oak-studded hills. Continue along the twisting, cliff-hugging route through Big Sur where mountains plunge into the Pacific Ocean. Explore the quaint village of Carmel and enjoy an exhilarating journey along 17-Mile Drive from Pebble Beach to Pacific Grove. Take in the sights, sounds and smells of Monterey at Old Fisherman’s Wharf in downtown, and explore Cannery Row’s historic waterfront district, John Steinbeck’s inspiration for his novel of the same name, before continuing on to San Francisco. Considered one of the greatest cities in the world for many reasons, San Francisco offers one-of-a-kind sights and something to suit your every need. With 49 square miles of amazing sights, scenes and destinations, there’s always plenty to do in San Francisco. Enjoy exploring the beloved City by the Bay’s neighborhoods including: Fisherman’s Wharf, Chinatown, Union Square, Nob Hill, the Embarcadero/Financial District, and Golden Gate Park.
