Projects range frombasicmaterialsresearchforglazinganddayligh<ngtodevelopmentofenergysimula<ontoolsforintegratedbuildingdesignandopera<ons,andfromneartermfielddemonstra<onsofemerging technologies to research suppor<ng “net zero energy” buildings. He led theproposal team for LBNL’s new FLEXLAB, the Facility for Low Energy eXperiments in

Buildings.TheresearchprogrambalancesR&Dwithanaggressivetechnologytransfereffortsothatresearchresultsare effec<vely adopted by the building industry. Selkowitz par<cipates in a wide range of building industry,government,andprofessionalac<vi<esintheU.S.andinterna<onally,andauthorofover170publica<onsandholds2patents.In2012hewastherecipientofthefirstLBNLLife<meAchievementAwardforSocietalImpactandin2014hereceivedtheMcGrawHill/ENR2014AwardofExcellencefor“relentlesslyworkingtoreducethecarbonfootprintofbuildingsandformovingthena<ontowardsbeWerbuildingperformance.”HeholdsanABdegreefromHarvardCollegewithamajorinPhysicsandanMFAinEnvironmentalDesignfromCaliforniaIns<tuteoftheArts.

Professor Takeuchi was graduated from Tokyo Tech in 1984, worked for Nippon SteelCorpora<on for 19 years as a structural engineer & researcher including several yearexperiences in Ove Arup & Partners London.
