Conference Overview

The National Supported Employment Conference is the largest Canadian event focusing on supported employment. The conference is a unique forum to exchange about the challenges and opportunities related to supported employment (from both human resources and employment support points of view), to examine current trends, to learn about specific disabilities and available accommodation methods, as well as to share creative ideas and best practices.

“A Changing Society: Seizing Opportunities, Enhancing Possibilities” is the title of the 24th conference presented by the Canadian Association for Supported Employment (CASE). The 2019 edition will be organized jointly with local host SPHERE (Support for People with a Handicap Exploring the Road to Employment). The conference ill ta e place in the ery li ely city of ontreal the first ti e it s hel in Quebec and fully bilingual, from June 11th-13th.

“A Changing Society: Seizing Opportunities, Enhancing Possibilities”

Economy, research, technologies, medias, social movements: we live in a time of rapid change. Should we view this phenomenon as a challenge, or as its opposite, an incredible opportunity? After all, thanks to infor ation technology, aren t e ore connecte than e er, ith access to a stupen ous amount of no le ge? Don t e no ha e a greater capacity to better un erstan the orl aroun us, as ell as each in i i ual s reality? Aren t e li ing in an econo ic context here e ployers ust re ain open to these realities to insure profitability? Aren t e the itnesses of social o e ents are shattering stereotypes, categorization, and put the focus on similarities instead of differences? Rediscover how to take advantage of these opportunities, and enhance possibilities for supported employment.
