WHEN LANE-WELLSGUN PERFORATES AN OIL WELLPerforating of oil well casing two miles or more belowthe surface was just a dream of a few short years agowhen Lane-Wells engineers tackled the problem . Itmeant designing a gun that would fit inside pipe andyet be powerful enough to penetrate as many as threestrings of heavy casing . It meant solving the problemof measurement to place each shot with deadly accu-racy. It meant building controls to fire the individualcharges. How well these engineers have succeeded is provedby the fact that more than 22,000 oil wells have beenGun-Perforated by Lane-Wells since 1933 throughoutthe oil fields of the world .The story of Lane-Wells Gun Perforating is availableto all engineers.
