Ariadne Artiles, spanish top model, spends her life travelling throughout the world for catwalks

and photoshootings. How does she organize her globetrotter suitcase? Th is is what she told us.

1. How many times do you pack in a year?«52 times, at least once a week. Every time I leave for work I bring “my” luggage, even though I use other garments on set».

2. What kind of suitcase do you use?«A rigid trolley, extralarge. I choose a vivid colour (to be able to recognize it in airports) and spacious».

3. Which are the secrets you learned modelling? «My prime rule is: never bring more clothes than those you will really wear».

4. Which are the essential things you have to bring with you during the summer?«Jeans, which you can use both during the day and at night, white cotton t-shirts, a pair of fl at sandals with roman laces, a mini bikini that leaves few tan signs, an appropriate sun cream. Don’t forget a spe-cial piece, that describes your style. Mine is a long hippie dress ».

5. How do you deal with shoes? How many do you bring and of which kind?«I try to bring the strict necessary, paying attention to comfort. Generally I work with opposites; when I choose fl at sandals I also bring stilettos. If I bring wedges, I also add fl ip fl ops».

6. Which is your favourite underwear?«I like a basic style, comfortable and practical: no wire or padding. Underwear for me must be like a second skin».

7. Th e make-up you cannot live without.«Sun tan cream, bronzing powder, a mascara to enhance my eyes, and a moisturizing cream that I also use on my lips to obtain a healthy and groomed look».

8. Your secret against jet lag.«To be able to arrive fresh at destination you must sleep during the fl ight. My trick to arrive sleepy before boarding is to party the night before in Madrid! ».

9. Th e most diffi cult travels.«Th ose that take you to a completely diff erent climate. Leaving from New York during winter heading to South Africa is really “shocking”. In this case a “reasoned suitcase” is essential: if you have the right clothes and beauty case you get used to the climate more easily».

Th ree, four weeks before exposure try to prepare skin to stimulate the right degree of natural protection, melanine, using food integrators rich of sugar. Immediately after, and 15 days before going to the beach, it is advisable to have a soft scrub to combine with a moisturizing treatment rich of vitamins.

NEVER GO UNDER SPF 15 SOLAR PROTECTION

Be patient with your tan. Th e fi rst days on the beach use a 50 Spf solar cream. You will feel you are not catching any sun, but don’t worry because it will show up on the third day. Th e following weeks depending on your skin phototype, fair or dark, you can decrease the solar protection, but never go under 15 Spf.

Salt, sun, chlorine and sun protection. How to fi ght back the eff ects of an intense holiday? Washing it in a delicate way. Here is how you can do it.

TIMING AND DETERGENTS

Experts advise to wash the swimming suits under tap water after every bath (both in sea and in swimming pool), preferably right after immersion. Without this action, salt and chlorine will stick to the fi bres and you will fi nd it very diffi cult to remove them at the end of the day. A shower after every bath is therefore a good habit that regenerates both your skin and beachwear.

1. Pass the bikini under tap water (never hot).

2. Prepare a delicate detergent (ex. a liquid hand soap).

3. Immerge the bikini in cold water mixed with soap and “massage” it delicately. Do not rub it to prevent fabric damage.

4. Rinse it under cold tap water.

5. Do not squeeze it. Th e bikini has to dry in a horizontal position outdoors.
