It is Harmony Day this Thursday (21 March). Students are most welcome to wear a ‘splash’ of orange to complement their school uniform. Great School Community Spirit A big thank you to everyone who supported the SRC fundraising event, as part of the World’s Greatest Shave. Through the raffle, mufti day and the online donations we have raised more than $4,300!! Below is a photo of a Jacob, James and Georgia after their ‘shave’ and an example of the crazy hair that was on display during the mufti day.

800m Races at Onslow Oval Last Thursday we held our 800m races at Onslow Oval

and we had many wonderful results. It was a lovely day

and there was once again great support from our parents

who turned up to cheer and help with time keeping and

track supervision. Our children were enthusiastic and

tried very hard. While we had some great individual

results we also witnessed the resolve and wonderful

mindset of children who were absolutely determined to

start and finish the 800m. The children who placed first

and second will participate in the zone athletics carnival

in Term 3.

Reminder 1:

Our 3 - 6 Cross Country Carnival will be held on our

school grounds on Thursday, 4 April and the back up date

is Tuesday, 9 April. All parents are welcome, help with

judging, time keeping and track supervision is needed.

Reminder 2:

Our full day school athletics carnival will be held on

Onslow Oval from 9.30 - 2.30. The date is Wednesday,

June 5 and the back up date is Wednesday, June 12. For

this day to work, we require the help of parents with

time keeping, walking children from event to event, shot

put, discus and long jump. I know that you will have fun

helping our children participate and if you are able to

help (no experience is necessary) please email me at:

Good Luck to our Boys and Girls League Team

Pictured below is both our boys and girls league teams having

a training session with our NRL Development Officer.

Students were learning about safe tackling techniques. The 7

–a-side tournament which was to be held this Thursday 21

March has been postponed due to the inclement weather.

Further details will be given to students and their families

when we have a new date for the tournament.

On Wednesday 6 March, Year 6 students attended

the Camden High School Discovery Day, along with other

schools in the Camden High School 'feeder

area'. Students were welcomed to the school by the Deputy

Principal and student school leaders and then placed

into groups. It was a great way for students at Camden Public

School to get to know people from other schools that they may

attend high school with next year and to hear first-hand from

current Year 8 students about what life in Year 7 is really

like. Groups rotated through activities about leadership, sport,

agriculture and reading and understanding a timetable. All

students had a great day and learnt more about the logistics of

high school. Camden Public School will further support Year

6 students with their transition to high school with a dedicated

program later in the year.

Quality Support in the Classroom

It has been a great start to the year and a big thank you

to parents and caregivers who have started helping out

in the classroom. Pictured below are a number of parents

helping-out in 2/3W as part of a mathematics problem

solving session.

P&C Election Day Volunteers Needed Volunteers are still needed for this Saturday’s Election Day BBQ. Below is a timetable that highlights timeslots, where help is still required. If you are able to help, please contact the school office.
