Faculty Development program was a great learning &

teaching experience for all the faculty members, it

provided immense knowledge for all faculty

members. Additionally this year industrial training

was also given through which the faculty members

gained practical knowledge.

This year FDP was totally focused on (Refereed

journal Paper presentation and industrial training

paper presentation was there).

FDP started on 13 July 2015, it initiated by Prof. O. P.

Vyas, (Dean Engg., JIET) on the objective of FDP and

was followed by an interactive session with Patron

and HODs. Next was Panel discussion (a group

discussion among guest dignitaries and faculty

members) on 'Technical education in India, status,

opportunities & initiatives'. It was organized by Prof. O. P. Vyas and the panel members were Mr. M. L.

Kumawat (Vice Chancellor, Sardar Patel University), Mr. S. R. Vadera (Director, DRDO Jodhpur), Mr.

Deepak Gehlot (CEO, Technosoft ) and Mr. R. P. Singh (Vice Chancellor, JNVU) .

On 14 July, lectures were held on various topics by faculty members at department level and papers

were presented. Then an expert lecture by Prof. (Dr.) Sandip Mehta (Dean Engg., JIETSETG) on “How

to make the Teaching profession a meaningful, enjoyable and satisfying experience” was conducted.

Later, a lab session was organized.

On 15 July, lectures by faculty members were conducted as per their schedule of training and paper

presentation. Later in the afternoon session, a lecture was conducted by Prof. (Dr.) K. R. Chowdhary

(Campus Director, JIET SETG) on “Teaching and learning models for electronics and communication

engineering”.

On 16 July, lectures by faculty members were conducted as per their schedule of training and paper

presentation. There was an expert session about “Control & instrumentation' by Prof. M. G. Soni (Asso.

Prof., EE, M.B.M., Jodhpur) on “Stability analysis of feedback control system”. Later on a Patron session

was conducted by Prof. (Dr.) H. K. Bedi (Director, JIET SOM) on “Depression: an issue at workspace”.

On 17 July, in the morning session there were lectures and presentations by faculty members in their

respective streams. Later on a Patron session was taken by Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Karwa (Director, JIET)

on 'Teaching Methodology' and by Prof. O. P. Vyas on “Role of faculty in making a world class

organization”.

On 20 July, In the morning session there were lectures and presentation by faculty members in their

respective streams. Then there was an expert session on “Embedded systems” by Mr. Mahesh Kumar

from BSNL Jodhpur. Later on a Patron session was conducted by Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Gupta (Dean

Sciences, JIETSETG) on 'The convergence of science and religion.'

On 21 July, there were lectures by faculty members as per there schedule of training and paper

presentation in different streams. Later on an online test was conducted for faculty members. An expert

session was held in EDC stream and it was taken by Prof. Rajendra Bhansali .

From 23 to 25 July 2015, a three day

orientation program for III, V and VII

semester students was organized in

the department of electronics and

communication engineering to make

them aware about the department and

the career options available in the field

of electronics. In this program HOD,

Dy. HOD along with coordinators of

various Cells gave keynote speeches.

Various faculty members delivered

expert lectures on their subjects

explaining the importance of the

subject in core field.

Ÿ A three days Workshop on “Basics of MATLAB Programming” conducted by Prof. Sanjay B.C. Gaur at

Computer Programing Lab -I, ECE Department from 24-26 August 2015. 24 Students from ECE and

5 students from EEE branch of V sem. selected for this workshop. It's an exhaustive workshop which

covers basics of MATLAB. The workshop consists of a legion of valuable information and useful tools.

Ÿ A workshop on Android Application Development has been conducted for students of VII Semester

(ECE & EEE) & V Semester (CSE) by Star Group on 19, 29 & 30 September 2015. In which 16

students from each branch has been selected. It's an exhaustive workshop which was focused to give

the overview of Android and Android IDE and developer tools. The workshop was very informative

and inspiring for students.

Ÿ A Refresher Course on “Basics of C Language” for the preparation of DAY 1 company has been

conducted on 28, 29 September 2015 at ECE Seminar Hall for VII Sem. students. The basic aim

behind this course was to prepare students for placements by improving their programming skills.

The course consists of a legion of valuable information.

Ÿ 15th September is celebrated every year in India as "Engineers' Day" to commemorate the birthday of

legendary Engineer Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, an eminent Indian Engineer and Statesman.

Ÿ To mark this auspicious occasion, ECE Department organized various competitions for the students

which included Word Puzzle, Debate and Extempore.

To show creativity and talent of the dazzling students, Open House 2015 was organized on October 12,

2015. In which various projects, models and charts were exhibited in the department. The basic theme

of this year's Open House was “Make in India” and the departmental theme was “Application of

Embedded System in Robotics, Automation & Communication”.

Students from various schools of Jodhpur, Pali and nearby areas visited the campus and also

participate to enhance their knowledge about the latest technology.

The projects, models and charts were judged by a panel of judges. Projects were judge by Ms. Shalini

Garg (Lecturer, Govt. polytechnic college Jodhpur), Charts were judge by Prof. Hansa Mehra (Asso.

Prof., ECE, JIET) and Ms. Pooja Bhati (Alumni, JIETSETG) and Models were judge by Ms. Dipika

Gehlot (Alumni, JIETSETG).

Ÿ Ms. Yogeshwari Birla (VII Sem.,ECE) won I position in GRE Edge (National Level Competition).

GRE Edge conducted 3 rounds of competition in which Ms. Yogeshwari Birla was only student

selected from all over Rajasthan in final top 40. She also won first prize MacBook Air 11”,

became brand ambassador of GRE edge and titled as “Student of the year 2015.”

Ÿ Ms. Yogeshwari Birla (VII Sem.,ECE) attended one day program conducted aspiringminds and

also selected as an “Employability Leader” under Employability Leadership Program 2015

organized by aspiringminds.

Ÿ 25 Students of III semester have been applied for the membership in Institute of Engineers

(India) to establish NIEI Student Chapter.

Ÿ 4 Students have participated in Sports Completion in Vivekand Institute of Technology, Jaipur

which is organized by Rajasthan Technical University, Kota and they got 10 Gold, 3 Silver & 3

Bronze medals in their respective sports events.

Ÿ On 9 October 2015, a departmental level Debate Competition was conducted, to select two students for

inter department competition. On the same day, out of 6 students from all three departments, a college

level competition was conducted to select final team of two students to send for the final inter college

competition. Ms. Ankita Tiwari (V Sem., ECE) got II runner-up position in Debate Competition held at

K.N. College of Women, Jodhpur on 10 October. The debate topic was on “Librated modern women- an

exigent need of today's society.

Ÿ Five students from ECE, JIETSETG has been visited Poornima Group of Colleges, Jaipur for “Aarohan

2015” on November 03, 2015. It is an annual inter-college fest conducted by Poornima Group of

Colleges, Jaipur. It blends a series of fine-arts, socio-cultural and literary events, along with a variety of

workshops, exhibitions and informal events.

Ÿ On 26 November 2015, a college level Debate Competition was conducted to select final team of four

students for “State level Hindi - English Debate Competition” conducted by Utthan Society. These four

students represented JIETSETG in State level debate competition held at Kendriya Suchna Kendra,

Jodhpur on 26 November 2015 and two students also secured III position. The debate topic was on

“Politics is responsible for corruption in country.”

Ÿ 5 Students from ECE JIETSETG participate in the district level nukkad natak competition held at

Government Bangur College, Pali on 16th Nov 2015. Theme for Nukkad Natak was “Road Safety and

Youth”. These students also got II price at district level.
