CAPRI ILLINI November 2015 Illinois Dairy Goat Association Presidents Column Hello fellow IDGA-ians, I’ll begin this letter with half of a poem as the rest gets to be a bit of a downer: Another day has come, thus another day has gone. A New Years Beginning Wile the last year has past What future awaits me on this new year. Another life another story Will begin. What surprises will await me What downfalls will come. Another year has come and gone Another year full of ups and downs I look forward to the good things It certainly was a year of ups and downs for the IDGA. We lost several cherished members, another moved onto bigger and better things in the far North-West, but back at home the club had an excellent show and financial year. I’d like to congratulate all of the returning and newly elected board members, as well as all of the other positions held! It is truly great to see the IDGA working together as one! Your teamwork is seen and appreciated by more than just me, I can promise you that. The momentum we have gained over the course of the last year is truly impressive, but let’s not hesitate and look back at our success and become comfortable. “One way to keep momentum going is to have constantly greater goals” --Michael Korda. To continue our momentum we have a few exciting endeavors ahead. We have been approved to host the ADGA Judges Training Conference (TC) and Pre-Training Conference (Pre-TC) at Parkland College on June 17-19. This is a tremendous opportunity for the club! I will stress that participation will be key to the success of the Pre-TC and TC just as it is to the overall success of the IDGA. I look forward to all of your ideas on how we can make this venture a grand success! Another topic of discussion will be the 2nd (kind of) annual club show. It is still very much up in the air right now, but bring your ideas so we can improve on last years! I look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting! November 1 st at 1:30pm in Saybrook. Have a wonderful breeding season! Lee Bergfield President
