sOO MUCH INFORMATION . . . . SOOO LITTLE TIME

MEDICINES: All medication (prescriptions, over-the- counter drugs, inhalers), must be picked up from the clinic by a parent by Wed, June 6. Medicines cannot be sent home with students or held over until the next year. If you have any questions, please call the clinic, 281-641-2305.

LIBRARY & CAFÉ BALANCES: Report cards will not be released to students who have outstanding balances for lost library books or unpaid cafeteria balances. Any balance in your child’s cafeteria account will be carried over to next year. If a student is moving on to another in district school, the balance will transfer to their new account.

EPI SCHOOL SUPPLIES: The order form is being sent home ONE MORE TIME on Monday and is on our website. We will accept the orders at WCE through June 6. EPI is offering an on-line, credit card option through June 28 at epipacks.com. Our school ID is WIL009. Please pre-order as they will NOT be available on campus when school starts.

Online Registration for All Returning Students 2013-14

Beginning in the 2013-14 school year, parents will need to update student

registration information online. The previous, paper intensive process has been replaced with an online REQUIREMENT for all parents via the Home Access Center (HAC). If you have not set up a HAC account, please do so in preparation for next school year. To set up a HAC account, go to this web page: https://eshac.humble.k12.tx.us/homeaccess/ Instructions for setting up a HAC account can be found here: http://www.humbleisd.net/cms/lib2/TX01001414/Centricity/Domain/4140/2013-HAC-Manual.pdf From August 5, 2013 through September 6, 2013, the update information link in HAC will allow parents to update their student’s information online. Parents will need to use this link to add, change or remove contact phone numbers. Additional information such as health inventory, responsible use policy and other pertinent forms can be updated online. For assistance, you may contact your campus until June 13. If you require assistance setting up a HAC account during the summer, a summer support line will be open from June 17 through August 12. For summer support for HAC set up, please call 281-641-8183.

As the school year winds down, Ms Bennett wants to thank all the volunteers who have hung artwork or cut paper during the year. All grade levels are learning about paper sculpture in the last weeks of school. They are exploring the two types of sculpture; in-the-round and relief.

The district’s Fine Arts Festival was a great success due to the many volunteers and sponsors that donated their time, money, and items. The following are students whose artwork was chosen for the festival: Fifth Grade: Grace Vance – Midnight Tree, Taylor Buehler – The Maze, Morgan Cabra – Southwest Pottery, and Bailey Raines – Pile of Flowers. Fourth Grade: Julia Paraskovas – Flower Power; Hoot, Neha Shaw – Mystery Mission, Thien Kim Huynh – Warm Flowers, Jenna Williams – Pretty As A Dove, Josh Clarke – Tree of Life, and Brooke Rogers – Woven Flower. Third Grade: Tommy Newman – Colorful Flowers, Victoria Mears – Epic Adobe, Fisher Pratt – Clown Fish; Mr. Owl. Second Grade: Quinn Stanford – Mr. Hoot First Grade: Ireland Harrington – Pinching Crab, ** Best Of Show Winner for First Grade Allie Vance – Rainbow Fish, Kindergarten: Hannah Fite – Hoot, Aumarie Goldsmith – Rosey. Congratulation to these artistic students!!

WILLOW CREEK

CARDINALS ARE

• KIND

• SAFE

• RESPECTFUL

• RESPONSIBLE

Willow Creek Elementary is a “No

Place for Hate” elementary school.

FLIP FLOP SUMMER READING CHALLENGE Take the Flip Flop Reading Challenge this summer. Paperwork was sent home in Friday folders today. If your child reads 1000 pages from 3 different genres

this summer, there will be a flip flop fun day with ice cream treats and a homework pass when they return to school in the fall. Links to forms and explanatory letter will also be on the school website. Hope you all Flip open a book and Flop down and read!! ..

PHILANTHROPHIES RECAP WCE wants to thank Tamara Waguespack for her efforts in organizing new and varied

philanthropy projects. We are blessed to have so many families in our school with a real heart for others. Thank you!

Here are some project recaps . . . . Willow Creek hosted a Birthday Bash party for the Boys and Girls Harbor in April. The 79 residents and their house parents had house had a wonderful time as we decorated their cafeteria, provided pizza and cake, and ended the afternoon with a "Mad Science" show. Tote bags and Target gift cards were given to

64 children.

Willow Creek hosted a Teacher Appreciation Luncheon at Northbelt Elementary on May 10th.

Pizza, salad and bundtini's were served and gift cards were distributed to each teacher and staff member, 90 in all. A drawing was also held and fifteen teachers received additional goodies. The administration and staff were SO APPRECIATIVE! Again, our families/volunteers who provided salads, luncheon supplies, gift cards and helped at the luncheon are simply beyond great. !

Three water jugs full of Pull Tabs will be taken to the Ronald McDonald House next week....That’s a

lot of beverage over TWO YEARS!

During the Book Fair we took book orders to help a 6 year old named Dylan Siegel raise money to

find a cure for his best friend’s rare liver disease. 17 books were ordered along with $40 in donations. Dylan has now raised $275,000! Thank you for helping.

Willow Creek has so many families who have very generous hearts and helping hands. During the

summer there are many ways in which to involve your children in "giving back." Both HAAM and the Society of St. Stephens have lists of things you can do at home to help. There are also flyers in the school lobby. Have a great summer.
