Message by Vice President

Association with the organisation like 'Care Village Foundation' is a matter of pride. I feel a lot of satisfaction in working for the community who is in dire need of facilities and services. CVF is playing a role of a mediator between them and Govt. agencies, advisor on certain issues on their daily life and also working for socio-economic development of a specific part of the society. I am confident that the organisation will get soon specific appreciations & laurels from the highest Govt. officials for devoting its specialised services to the society.

Vikaram

Message by Executive Director

I always remain in doubt which part of my life is more important. As a house manager, I feel that working at home for family members is very important part of life of a woman. On the other hand, working for society on behalf of CVF provides me feeling of 'being human' in actual sense. Specially when I help a woman in need of legal advice, service of Govt. agency like ration card, bank account, aadhar card, labour card, medical help etc., I feel that it is also a non separable part of my life. A lot of thanks to god for providing me the opportunity to become a part of 'Care Village Foundation.

Mrs. Roopa Singh

Right to Food - 19.06.2016 The right to food is a human right. It protects the right of all human beings to live in dignity, free from hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition. The right to food is not about charity, but about ensuring that all people have the capacity to feed themselves in dignity. Like many other developing countries, India has a wide variety of feeding programs, food subsidies, and other sorts of "schemes" to alleviate hunger, but somehow these programs are never quite enough. Lacking political power, marginalized people stay marginalized despite such efforts to help them. They can be empowered, however, through clear acknowledgment of their human rights. In terms of the law, the human right to adequate food is a part of the right to an adequate livelihood, which is a part of economic rights, which is a part of human rights generally, which is a part of international law. We conducted a programme on this issue on 19.06.2016 at Kachua Rampur, Ballia(UP). Hundreds of people from nearby villages and other areas attended this programme. The were informed about their right to food and also how can they get benefits of Govt. schemes in this regard. The Govt. schemes and programmes, to this effect, were also explained to them in detail. The necessary assistance was also provided on the spot. After the programme was over lunch to all the participants was distributed. All enjoyed the food. The programme was great success for Care Village Foundation.

Gender Equality - 01.11.2016 We proud Indians of 21st century rejoice in celebrations when a boy is born, and if it is a girl, a muted or no celebrations is the norm. Love for a male child is so much so that from the times immemorial we are killing our daughters at birth or before birth, and if, fortunately, she is not killed we find various ways to discriminate against her throughout her life. Though our religious beliefs make women a goddess but we fail to recognize her as a human being first; we worship goddesses but we exploit girls. We are a society of people with double-standards as far as our attitude towards women is concerned; our thoughts and preaching are different than our actions.

A session on the above issue was organised by the foundation on 01.11.2016 at Chhicho, Ratanpura, Ballia, UP to try to understand the phenomenon of gender inequality and search for some solutions. The construction industry is the single biggest non-agricultural industry in the capitalist world. Construction workers are, however, treated largely as second-class citizens, deprived of means to protect their dignity.

Care Village Foundation organised an event for the construction workers on 06.11.2016 at J-1/40, Phase-I, Budh Vihar, Delhi.
