Fashion Illustrator Fashion illustrations show a representation or design of a garment but also served as a form of art. Fashion illustration shows the presence of hand and is said to be a visual luxury. They work very closely with fashion designers and art directors to produce artistic, unique and creative visual images with the aid of traditional and digital media.

ReactionI like this job, but it’s not what I want to get into. I like the artistic part of it but I’m not the best at drawing so I wouldn’t be able to do this job to it’s full potential.

Textile DesignerTextile designing involves producing patterns for cloth used in clothing, household textiles and decorative textiles such as carpets. Textile design is a process from the raw material into finished product. Fiber, yarn and finishes are the key elements to be considered during the textile design procedure.

Reaction:

I like this job, it incorporates interior and even graphic design. These are two I want to get into.

Curator and Gallery Manager

Curator and Gallery Managers are responsible for an institution's collections and involved with the interpretation of heritage material. The object of a traditional Curator and Gallery Managers concern necessarily involves tangible objects of some sort, whether it is artwork, collectibles, historic items or scientific collections.

Reaction:

I think I would enjoy this career. This career involves all of the things I’m into and it involves interior design.

Visual Merchandise Manager

Visual Merchandise Managers creates an inviting, visually appealing environment for the store. Visual merchandisers have knowledge of colors, patterns and floor-sets. Window designs, internal displays and other merchandising of promotional events to entice the customer to buy may be required. Visual merchandisers will be responsible for using appropriate lighting for the best presentation possible, arranging signage and coordinating the take down of displays after promotion.

Reaction: I see this type of career at my job now. It’s a lot of fun to see the assembly of the displays and it shows me a glimpse of what I may be doing in the future.

Fashion Merchandise BuyerFashion Merchandising Buyers interact with wholesalers and clothing manufacturers to purchase lines of clothing, shoes and fashion accessories to be featured at retail stores. Fashion Merchandise Buyers work for retail fashion and department stores. They visit clothing, shoe and accessory manufacturers and attend trade shows in order to determine what fashion items their stores will carry each season. Many Fashion Merchandise Buyers travel internationally on a regular basis to foreign manufacturing sites and glamorous fashion shows.

Reaction:

This is one of my favorite jobs. I think it is so cool to be able to pick out clothing that millions of people will be wearing the items I picked out.
