Our MissionTo support programs that provide Oklahomans access to health care services.
Our HistoryIn 1994, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma created the Oklahoma Caring Foundation to offer needed health care services to Oklahomans, with an emphasis on caring for our state’s children.
The Caring Program for Children extends free primary and preventive health benefits to children in lower-income families.
The Oklahoma Caring Van Program was launched in 1999 to deliver free vaccines to children. The Oklahoma Caring Van Program partners with child care providers, schools and other organizations to reach children who struggle to access traditional health care providers.

“Oklahoma possesses no greater resource than the
health of our children. We are committed to supporting
programs designed to offer children a healthy beginning
and our communities a brighter future.”
— Bert Marshall Chairman of the Board
The Oklahoma Caring Van ProgramThe Oklahoma Caring Van Program delivers immunizations to protect children and adolescents from dangerous illnesses at no cost to their families. The Oklahoma Caring Van Program’s goal is to remove barriers that too often prevent children from receiving the vaccines they need at the appropriate time.
The Oklahoma Caring Van Program offers all vaccines required for school and child care enrollment. Immunizations are administered by public health nurses who specialize in immunizations.
