PE shopping bags are made from plastic collected at recy-cling centers, industrial com-panies and retail. The plastic is cleaned, melted and shaped into solid PE plastic bags that can be decorated with many different colors and prints.

PE Shopping Bags

The PE shopping bags made from production waste are labeled with Abena’s own environment label Re3 (reduse, reuse, recycle) to illustrate that: 1) we reduce the amountof raw material used in first productions 2) we reuse plas-tic waste to manufacture new products 3) we make sure that

the manufactured products can be recycled. PE shopping bags made from production waste are extremely strong and can be reused multiple times. Our sustainable manufacturing process means that only a very little CO2 emission occurs when making the bags.

Recycled PET is a strong, dura- ble and environment friendly material that is manufactured mainly from recycled plastic bottles and plastic containers.

If you choose laminated PET shopping bags, 80 % of the bag will be made from recycled PET bottles.

The main component in the biodegradable shopping bags (Bio bags) is the raw material corn starch, which makes the bag 100 % compostable. If the bag is composted correctly, it will decompose into its single elements within 10-45 days.

The bag leaves no trace of its existence. All colours and printing used for the Bio bags are certified according to the European Standard EN13432, regarding biodegradable and compostable products.

The paper shopping bag is a popular, environment friendly choice with many options for colour and print. Paper is a sus-tainable resource, because it is made from wood. As a material, paper is stronger and thicker than plastic.
