We must never forget…
Change is inevitable, but
growth is optional!
COMMITMENTS FOR 2015-2016• Raise student success inside/outside the
classroom by providing the highest quality programs, resources, and staffing, as well as ensuring a safe learning environment, which provides support for students, teachers, and parents.
• Utilize the district’s curriculum plan with high fidelity by providing the staff of Castleberry ISD with professional development which meets the needs of all students, and providing avenues of communication and collaboration using Professional Learning Communities to promote shared accountability district-wide.
• Develop the district as a data-driven decision making entity by monitoring the academic growth of each student and providing various data points for teachers and administrators to use in order to implement appropriate forms of intervention (RTI) and enrichment to meet the learning needs of ALL students.

WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?“Commitment is what transforms a promise into reality. It is words that speak boldly of your intentions. And the actions which speak louder than the words. It is making the time when there is none. Coming through time after time after time, year after year after year. Commitment is the stuff character is made of; the power to change the face of things. It is the daily triumph of integrity over skepticism.”
Abraham Lincoln
CREATING A SENSE OF URGENCY• Becoming Aware of what we want.
• Creating enough pain behind us for what has happened in the past.
• Step into being that individual…
A Decision Must Be Made
HOW DO WE IMPROVE CASTLEBERRY ISD?
School Improvement/District Improvement can not and will not happen unless we have PEOPLE IMPROVEMENT!When you talk about school improvement, you are talking about people improvement. That is the only way to improve schools, unless you mean painting the buildings, and fixing the floors. But that’s not the school: it is the shell…we are talking about the people who make up the building.
TRIVIA TIME!
NAME A MOVIE THAT FOCUSED ON THE LIFE OF AN EDUCATOR.
WE MUST ALSO BE WILLING TO…RECULTURE
CASTLEBERRY ISD
SCHOOL CULTURESchool Culture is the set of
norms, values, beliefs, rituals and ceremonies, symbols, and
stories that make up the persona of the school.
“TOXIC” SCHOOL CULTUREEducators believe that student
success is based upon students’ level of concern, attentiveness, prior knowledge, and willingness to comply with the demands of the school, and they articulate that belief in overt and covert
ways. Educators create policies and procedures and adopt
practices that support their belief in the impossibility of universal
achievement.
“HEALTHY” SCHOOL CULTUREEducators have an unwavering belief in the ability of all of their
students to achieve success, and they pass that belief on to
others in overt and covert ways. Educators create policies and
procedures and adopt practices that support their belief in the
ability of every student.
LOU HOLTZ ONCE SAID…Ability is what you’re capable of
doing.
Motivation determines what you do.
ATTITUDE determines how well you do it.
GROWTH MINDSETPEOPLE BELIEVE THAT THEIR MOST BASIC ABILITIES CAN BE DEVELOPED THROUGH
DEDICATION AND HARD WORK – BRAINS AND TALENT ARE JUST THE STARTING POINT.
Coming Together Is A Beginning,
Keeping Together Is Progress,
Working Together Is Success!
