It also exists in two granito shades of acid, CRISTALV (glossy) and CRISTALVI (mat).

Patterns and designs

A catalogue of patterns and designs is availa-ble, however customers may also ask for vec-torization of their own illustrations.

Glass media

Personalized acid treatments can be applied to most glass media, shaped or not:

• clear glass;

• extra clear glass;

• tinted glass;

• printed glass (treatment on smooth side);

• coated glass;

• clear and colored mirror;

• tempered glass;

• dual windowpanes.

Dimensions and thicknesses

There are no limits on dimension and thic-kness for treatment except for those that are inherent to the glass media that is used.

Transformation

After CRISTALI, II/III and IV acid treatment, glass can be shaped, tempered, laminated, (sa-tin side should not be in contact with PVB), curved. Assembled in dual windowpanes, it is preferable to place the treated side on side 4 (inside). It cannot be placed on the inner-space (sides 2 or 3) unless it is left untreated on the area that comes into contact with the double windowpanes’ rubber seal.

The infinite universe of translucid color applied to glass.

Description

Coated glass is obtained by applying one choice of color on the front or back side of glass. When applying the translucid coating, LAKTRANS, glass is first treated to give it dif-fusive, non-transparent qualities.

Use

Coated glass is adapted to non-damp areas in which color enhances the atmosphere.

DBI’S translucid coating, (LAKTRANS), offers an unlimited choice of colors. Colors from the RAL, NCS, Pantone ranges or from a sample, LAKTRANS treatment can be used to perso-nalize residential or professional areas.

Coated glass can be used in many ways:

• fitting-out: hinged or sliding doors, decora-tive panels, partitions;

• furtniture: personalization of table or desk tops, shelves, wardrobe and closet doors;

• signage solutions: logos and inscriptions, alone or in combination with deep-etched sandblasting (SANDDEEP).

Advantages

Personalization

DBI’S coated glass can be completely perso-nalized. It can be used in many ways to fit into all areas:

• unlimited selection of colors inspired by RAL, NCS, Pantone ranges or manual custom-tinting according to sample;

• it is possible to combine several colors on the same glass;

• combination of opaque and translucid co-lors;

• for making logos, designs or patterns of your choice;

• combined with other DBI surface treat-ments (for example, CRISTALI, II/III & IV, CRISTALINE, SANDDEEP, ...)

Coating protection

Coating applied to the back of glass protects the aspect and colors from deterioration.

Range

LAKTRANS treatments are only made-to-measure. No standard range, all colors from the RAL, NCS or Pantone ranges can be made translucid.

Glass media

DBI’S LAKTRANS coatings can be applied to most glass media:

• clear and extra clear glass

• glass treated with acid;

• stamped glass (treatment on smooth or printed side) ;

• clear and colored mirrors;

• laminated glass ;

• tempered glass.

Dimensions and thicknesses

There are no maximum limits on dimension or thickness for coating treatments. However, when treating large surfaces with a translucid coating, clouds of color or dry spots some-times appear, and they are acceptable within a certain limit of tolerance inherent to the method of manufacture. It is also important to note that the choice of glass media (type and thickness) has an effect on the color per-ceived on the glass side. For light colors such as white or yellow, an extra-clear glass should be used to limit the effect of the natural green tint of glass.

Transformation

Coating can be applied on simple glass or glass that has already been shaped, tempered, laminated, curved, assembled in double win-dowpanes.

It can also be applied on glass before cutting, shaping, assembling in double windowpanes. Glass that is treated with LAKTRANS can not be tempered after treatment.

Assembled in double windowpanes, the coa-ted side should be placed on the inside of the double pane (side 2 or 3), only if it has not been treated in the rubber seal area.

Otherwise, the coated side should be placed on the outside of one of the two panes.

Easy installation

Opaque coated glass (LAKOPAK) can be installed mechanically or glued in place using products for mirrors (neutral glue or double-side adhesive foam). Solvent-based glues or acetic silicones should never be used.

Range

LAKOPAK treatments are only made-to-measure. All the colors in the RAL, NCS, Pan-tone ranges are available. Personalized tints can be made using customer samples.Some additional DBI coating treatments are possible in supplement to the LAKOPAK base coat treatment. Their usefulness depends on how the coated glass will be used. DBI offers an opaque coating, a reinforced coating and/or a safety coating.

Glass media

DBI’S LAKOPAK coatings can be applied to most glass media:• clear and extra clear glass• acid-treated glass;• stamped glass (treatment on smooth or stamped side);• clear and colored mirrors;• laminated glass ;• tempered glass.

Dimensions and thicknesses

There are no maximum limits on dimension or thickness for coating treatments. However, the choice of glass media (type and thickness) has an effect on the color perceived on the glass side. For light colors such as white or yellow, an extra-clear glass should be used to limit the effect of the natural green tint of glass.

Transformation

Coating can be applied on simple glass or glass that has already been shaped, tempered, laminated, curved, assembled in double win-dowpanes.

The size of particles that are projected de-termines the glass finish. From micro-sand to the largest particles of sand (SANDUNI | SANDMICRO), from frosting (SANDART) to grading (SANDGRADES), DBI is an expert in treatment for various uses for uncomparable results.

Description

Sandblasting is an operation that dulls the glass surface by projecting sand at high-pres-sure. During the treatment, abrasive particles attack the glass, making it translucid. The size of sand particles and the material that is used determine the treatment’s finished abrasive-ness and smoothness.

Use

Sanded glass is used to personalize private or professional areas.

It can be used in many ways:

• doors, windows and partitions;

• shower enclosures;

• furniture, worktops, table or desk tops, clo-set doors;

• safety markings for glass doors and parti-tions;

• stair steps, floor tiles (also see anti-slip treat-ment, CRISTALSTEPS).

Advantages

Personalization

DBI’S sand treatments can be completely per-sonalized, offering numerous possibilities to fit all areas:

• alternating transparent and translucid ef-fects;

• for making logos, designs or patterns of your choice;

• combined with other DBI surface treatments (such as LAKOPAK or LAKTRANS).

Privacy and light

Sanded glass adds privacy to a room, while maintaining natural light.

Range

Sanded glass is only made-to-measure. The following can be made using various proces-ses:

SANDUNI – uniform sandblasting

Sandblasting can be applied to all or part of the surface to be treated. In this case, a text, logo, geometric design or other pattern of your choice can be sandblasted. A catalogue of patterns and designs is available, however customers may also ask for vectorization of their own illustrations.

SANDMICRO – micro-sandblasting

The use of extremely fine particles of sand gives the sandblasted glass an aspect that is close to acid etched glass. It is ideal for dirt-resistant protection on double windowpanes.

SANDART - frosting

By using different abrasives and sandblasting techniques, graded frosting can be applied to specific parts of a design to add texture. This technique is mostly used for sandblast etching figurative designs (birds, reeds, herons, Venus…).

SANDGRADES - grading

Grading can be applied to all or part of the surface, with or without clear etching, begin-ning with a tratment at 100%, gradually de-creasing sandblasting intensity.

Glass media

Sandblasting treatments can be used on most glass media:

• clear and extra clear glass

• tinted glass;

• stamped glass;

• coated glass;

• clear and colored mirrors;

• laminated glass;

• tempered glass.

Dimensions and thicknesses

There is no limit on maximum dimension or thickness for shaped work.

Transformation

Sandblasting treatments can be applied to your choice of glass that has already been sha-ped, tempered, laminated, curved, assembled in double windowpanes.

When assembled in double windowpanes, the sandblasted side must not be placed on the inside of the double windowpane (side 2 or 3), unless there is no treatment in the rub-ber seal area. Otherwise, the sandblasted side must be placed on the outside of one of the two panes (exterior applications: no treat-ment on side 1).

Glass media

Sandblasting can be applied to most glass media:

• clear and extra clear glass

• tinted glass;

• coated glass ;

• clear and colored mirrors;

Dimensions and thicknesses

There is no limit on maximum dimension or thickness for shaped work. However, we re-commend using a media that is thick enough to obtain the desired texture.

Transformation

Glass that is treated with SANDDEEP and SANDBOLD can not be tempered after treat-ment.
