Catalog Introduction

This 2008 Zetec catalog is focused on the Eddy Current Tubing Inspection Equipment productline. The approach of creating a catalog specific to a product line and market will make itsimpler to identify the products and services you are looking for. Zetec also has a companioncatalog for your market that includes all of the eddy current tubing inspection probe products.

This catalog represents the most common products for the eddy current inspection of ferrousand non-ferrous tubing. You will notice some new items within this catalog and may also noticesome items have been removed as they are less common or not part of the current product line.Zetec maintains an internal database of the unpublished catalog items which will contain spareparts, non common and some legacy products still in limited production. If you don’t find whatyou are looking for in the way of Eddy Current Tubing Inspection Products, don’t hesitate tocontact Zetec Customer Service [email protected] to discuss your particular needs.

With this catalog, Zetec is also the process of updating our operational database and to supportthis transition, we are changing our numbering scheme to better support you, the customer. Weare eliminating the practice of using generic catalog numbers that were used to describe manyvariants of the same product. The products within this catalog carry Item numbers that have aone-to-one relationship with the products we build and ship eliminating the confusion inunderstanding what was ordered to what was received.

Another new feature is the use of “Acronyms” for all of our products similar to what has beenused with the probe products for many years. Like the new item numbers, each acronym isunique to a single product design. The hierarchy within the acronyms provide for a naturalgrouping of products when a list is sorted based on this attribute making it easier for you tomanage your inventory of Zetec products.

MIZ-80iD System

Zetec’s MIZ®-80iD represents a break-through in technology to provide highlyefficient and cost effective eddy currentinspections of tubing in nuclear powerplants. It combines a powerful eddy currentinstrument plus controllers for MRPC®probes, probe driver, and power suppliesinto one compact modular package.Together these modules maintain thesame footprint as the widely-used Zetec10D Probe Pusher. Each module islightweight, easy to connect, configurablein either left or right hand setups. Oneoperator can easily install and remove theentire system.

The integration of the probe pusher,pusher controls and eddy current

instrument significantly reduces setup time and eliminates the need for the eddy current analogdata slip ring, probe adapters and probe extension cables. The design of the enclosures andhousings of the MIZ-80iD are engineered to provide a “Faraday Cage” to improve immunity toexternal noise sources that can affect the integrity of the eddy current data.

High-Speed 3D Probe Pusher System with Model III ControlsThe High-Speed 3D Probe Pusher System is a variable-speedprobe driver with separate control box and power supply forinspecting balance-of-plant (BOP) tubing. The controllerprovides independent forward and reverse controls, as well asvariable speed settings and constant probe speed regulation.With the High-Speed 3D Probe Pusher system, you can drivethe probe at speeds up to 72 inches/second. The probepusher provides enough torque to successfully test tubes fulllength without preliminary cleaning. 10D4 Modular Probe Pusher

The 10D4 Probe Pusher is completely modular. Its design consists oftwo main modules—the Pusher Head and Drive-Gearboxassemblies. Modules are interchangeable as well as configured withdifferent options to optimize the probe pusher for its specificapplication. Two mirror-image probe pushers combine to form acompact dual unit or separate easily for a convenient space savinglayout. Access when servicing the drive wheels or changing probes isstraight-forward without any extra component disassembly. Withversatility in mind, probe control can be either independent orsimultaneous, depending on your selected test plan.

Powered by a DC Brushless Servo Motor with resolver feedback, the10D4 Probe Pusher allows precision control of the probe’s travelspeed. Innovative motion control circuitry provides smooth transitionbetween low- and high-speeds without time-consuming gearchanges.

The 10D System can be purchased in either Right-Hand or Left-Hand configurations and available options andaccessories can allow the Take-Up reel to be remotely positioned from the pusher head. EddynetSuite

Zetec’s EddynetSuite software is a completeeddy current inspection software platformproviding data management, acquisition, dataquality verification and analysis. EddynetSuiteis capable of acquiring and analyzing eddycurrent using bobbin, MRPC and Array probetechnologies. EddynetSuite is compatible withmultiple eddy current instruments andacquisition systems. Options and License TermsEddynetSuite software is offered in a choice of two separate License to Use (LTU) term programs.The purchase of an EddynetSuite LTU license grants the user authorization for installation and useof the Eddynet software product for the term of the LTU license period purchased. Renewal of thelicense is required for uninterrupted operation of the software beyond the term of the license. Fulldetails of the rights and restrictions are available in the EddynetSuite End Users LicenseAgreement (EULA).

The annual LTU license term will begin on the date the authorization password is supplied by Zetecand will automatically expires at the one year anniversary. Daily LTU license terms begin on thedate of the authorization password from Zetec and will be charged at the daily calculated rate forterm of activation until a cancellation request with password is provided to Zetec.

User SupportThe purchase of an EddynetSuite software LTU provides the user with up to 2 hrs of initialinstallation and operation call-in support. Software training in the use of EddynetSuite is available inthe Training section of the Zetec catalog.

Machine Vision Controller SystemZetec’s Machine Vision product has two goals—Auto-Acquisition and Independent TubeVerification.

As a modular control unit, Machine Visioninterfaces directly into the same network as dataacquisition and analysis. Machine Vision uses asupplemental camera to continuously collect"screen grab" images and communicate tubelocation as the fixture moves. These imagesprovide tube verification that is independent fromthe Zetec fixture locating method. Using knowntube sheet parameters and minimal calibration toset up, Machine Vision tracks the tube sheet asthe fixture moves. Results are an independenttube verification system that ensures the ZetecRemote Fixture correctly locates and services thetube of interest.

With Machine Vision, the Zetec Remote fixture locates accurately with every movement and eliminates the needfor operators to manually jog the guide tube into position under a tube. 7. Training

Training classes are considered to be either Formal or Informal. Formal classes have strictguidelines for duration and content. They include written and/or practical examinations thatcould lead to qualification for certification. Informal courses (ETD) are normally designed andscheduled based on customer needs and do not include examinations.

Any of these courses could be presented at customer facilities given the right circumstances.The cost for this service would be based on a fixed daily fee for the Instructor teaching andtravel time plus all expenses. Five to six students from the same organization normally make itmore cost effective to the customer for us to provide the training at customer facilities. Quotesare available upon request.

Student tests and certificates will be sent to the customer after payment is received.

Scheduling as early as possible is strongly recommended. Course openings and instructoravailability usually are committed two months in advance.

8. Ordering Information

PricesAll prices are quoted in US dollars or Canadian dollars depending on customer region and product. Prices aresubject to annual or periodic adjustments and may be made at any time without prior notice.

Beginning November 1st

2008 and each November 1st

thereafter, prices quoted will be based on the followingyear’s pricing. Exceptions to this policy will apply only to orders placed and accepted by Zetec for delivery priorto December 31. In these cases, current year pricing will apply.

Domestic Terms of Sales: All prices are FOB Seller’s place of business or manufacturing plant.

International Terms of Sales: All prices are FCA Seller’s place of business or manufacturing plant according to1990 or 2000 INCOTERMS.

Minimum Order: Zetec requires a $250 minimum purchase on each order.

All prices exclude shipping costs and sales tax. Shipping charges will be billed to the customer if prepaid and arenot included in purchase or rental charges. Applicable sales tax will be added to your invoice.

ShipmentsPlease provide your company-preferred carrier with account number at order placement. Shipping insurance willnot be added unless specifically indicated on the purchase order. Orders placed without shipping instructions willbe shipped best way at Zetec’s discretion with the appropriate shipping, forwarding and insurance costs addedto the invoice.

9. Return Policy & Fees

Return PolicyBefore returning items (uncontaminated only), obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Toobtain an RMA number, contact Zetec Customer Service and provide the following information:

Reason for return

Date of purchase

Purchase order number (on the packing slip)

Zetec reference number (on the packing slip)

Include the RMA number with the shipment. Shipments received without an RMA number will be held until theRMA is issued. If you suspect damage by the carrier, request that the carrier’s agent be present when theshipment is unpacked. If concealed damage is found, we recommend that you immediately file a claim directlywith the freight carrier.

Items requesting return due to excess customer inventory will require prior approval and will be subject to arestocking fee. This applies to standard catalog items only. Special designs and non-catalog items can not bereturned.

Expedite FeeExpedite fees apply to any order placed with requested delivery date less than 14 days or with a delivery dateless than originally quoted. A minimum 15% Expedite Fee will be charged for expedited orders.

10. Warranty & Quality Information

Quality InformationMaintaining a high level of quality for our products and services is of utmost importance to Zetec. Ourquality system is designed to ensure that we consistently provide you with the highest quality productsand services. Zetec’s quality system has been ISO 9001 registered since 1994. We currently maintainan ISO 9001 registration covering our hardware and software products in addition to our inspectionservices. We also maintain an ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for nondestructive testing services and ourQuality System meets the 10CFR50 Appendix B quality assurance criteria for the nuclear powerindustry.

Product Warranties

All Zetec products, including consumables are delivered with Zetec’s promise to provide goods thatare manufactured to be suitable for the intended purpose, functional and free from defects as per theagreed conditions of sale.

Major Electronic and Mechanical equipment is warranted to the original purchaser against defects inmaterial and workmanship for a period on year from the date of shipment.

Probes, Cables and Spare Parts are considered consumables therefore are warranted to the originalpurchaser at delivery to be free of defects in material, workmanship and to meet the specific designrequirements and pass the specific quality checks at time of manufacture.

Customer paid equipment repair will be warranted for 90 days (parts and labor). This warranty islimited to failures in the areas related to the subject repair. The customer is responsible and will becharged for the recalibration of equipment where the calibration has been voided by the repair activity.

O.E.M. Equipment not manufactured by Zetec will be covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty.

Zetec does not warrant against defects caused by damage, misuse, abnormal operating conditions,alterations or conditions of nature such as fire, flood, wind and lightning.

Any non-confirming items shall be subject to repair, replacement or refund at Zetec’s option if suchconditions are identified within 30 days of the initial shipment.

Equipment warranty does not include periodic calibration or normal maintenance as described in theZetec operating manuals. All returned merchandise must be sent freight prepaid by buyer, properlyboxed to prevent damage in transit and be accompanied by a Zetec issued Return MerchandiseAuthorization (RMA) number.
