Our curriculum is planned around the needs of our learners. In order to facilitate the best outcomes for students our school is organized in 3 broad pathways

Students in Yellow Pathway have profound

and multiple learning difficulties and complex

needs, and some children have autism.

These children are mostly class based and will always need lots of

support from adults

Students in Blue Pathway have a severe

learning difficulties, they focus on learning basic

and functional skills. Some of these children

may eventually live independently or with

support and may access supported or sheltered

employment

Students in Red Pathway have a moderate

learning difficulty. Students focus on developing more

academic skills and employability skills. Most students will

access work related learning. They may live independently and get

employment.

Students who have autism will be in all pathways

Measuring and Recording Progress

Page 16: Catcote Academy Erasmus + visit March2016

A Catcote we use different methods to collect information about students’ progress. Student progress is monitored very closely. In Key Stage 3 we use nationally recognized criteria called Plevels and School Year Expectations . We record electronically and compare with national data.In Key Stage 4 we continue to use the same measures as well as some accreditation leading to qualifications. In 6th form students do accreditation and qualifications and progress is measured using either the ‘achievement continuum’ or the qualification assessment criteria.
