CELEBRATING LEARNING & ACHIEVEMENT

LEO - Learning Enrichment Option

Our LEO programme is in full swing! All students in years 3 to 8 had the opportunity to select from a diverse range of new learning opportunities to participate in over a 5 week period this term. We cannot thank the members of our community enough who have stepped forward and offered their time and expertise to support this programme. Due to this support we have been able to offer new and exciting opportunities to our students this year! We shall share more of the learning in the next newsletter - watch this space!

Athletics Day What a fantastic day Friday was! The weather held out for us and we managed to get through all our events. Congratulations to those students who have qualified to represent Karaka School at the ECCS athletics event tomorrow. A huge thank you to Mrs Sutton for her superb organisation of the day and to Miss Yuretich who organised the junior and middle events after morning tea. Thanks also to the parents who helped out on the day - we couldn’t have done it without you. It was great to see so many of you join us to support your children and cheer for others too!

Camps 2017 Planning for 2017 is well underway and we have locked in the dates for both the year 7 and 8 camp as well as the year 5 and 6 camp. In 2017 the camps will be held:

Year 7 and 8 - Kokako Lodge - 20th - 24th February (approx. cost $350.00)

Year 5 and 6 -Shakespeare Lodge - 6th - 9th June (costs yet to be confirmed)

Further information will follow. If you wish to start making payments towards the cost of the camp, please contact the office.

Events The end of the school year is fast approaching and there are so many exciting events still to come. Please ensure you read newsletters and check out our calendar on the new website - we don’t want you to miss out on a thing!

If your child received a trophy at prize giving last year (2015) could you please bring them back in to the office. We need to get them ready for this years’ prize giving.

Intermediate Uniform

A reminder that the optional Intermediate uniforms can be pre-ordered using the form sent home previously. Should you require another form or would like to view the uniform please call into the office. Pre-orders are due back 18th November.

the individual at the

replacement rate.

Lunchroom Help Needed

Would you like to help out your school but have limited time?? Perhaps you could volunteer for Friday lunch room duty. You would start around 8.15am—9.30, three to four times per term.

If you are interested please leave your name at the office or see Adele in the lunchroom on Friday.

Last PTA meeting of the year is on Wednesday 30th November. Please contact a member of the PTA if you wish to attend as the meeting is offsite.
