What Is Lecture Capture ?

Lecture capture is a program (recording of lecture that can be downloaded via the web) that provides verbal and/or visual content from class. You will then have access to the lecture outside of class so you can listen to the lecture as many times as you want to complete your notes. This is a great study tool!!

Getting Started

When a student requests notetaking as accommodation, the student will be notified from the Assistive Technology Access Specialist by e-mail to the student’s NIC e-mail account. The purpose of this e-mail is for the student to check with the instructor to see if they already provide instructor notes, copy of PowerPoint presentations or lecture capture.

If the instructor does have lecture notes/PowerPoint available AND the student decides they will be adequate and does not need lecture capture the student doesn’t need to do any more.

HOWEVER, if the students instructor does not have lecture notes/PowerPoint available OR if the instructor does have lecture notes/PowerPoint available but upon the students review the student feels they are not adequate then the student contacts the Access Specialist to proceed with putting lecture capture in place as you have already requested.

Please remember lecture capture will not be put into place unless the student replies to the e-mail sent by CEA regarding lecture capture.

Lecture Capture Timeline For Requests

When the student replies back to CEA deciding that they want lecture capture, CEA has six

working days to implement the lecture capture into the classroom.

CEA is not responsible for student’s poor academic achievement because of late requests. Requests can be made at anytime during the course of the semester.
