Studying and Adapting the Leading Purdue Experience A series of activities for studying, adaptation and introduction of Purdue experiences in student innovation and entrepreneurship support

Center for Student Innovation Entrepreneurship at UNN

• Established at UNN in December 2011• Coordinating office to generate culture and awareness for students’ experiences in innovation and entrepreneurship


Multilevel Entrepreneurship Education at UNN


• Innovation entrepreneurship as a part of basic curriculum

• Training of teaching staff to provide mass entrepreneurship education



• Continuous professional development of UNN teaching and research staff in innovation entrepreneurship

• Specialized training of university spin-outs’ managers



Trained in 2011-2012:

• over 350 undergraduate and master students

• about 150 doctoral students

• about 250 staff members



• A set of methodological materials based on the best U.S. experiences published• Four new syllabuses for educational programs in Innovation Entrepreneurship developed• Five new programes launched



• Series of 20 master-classes of successful innovation entrepreneurs in 2012

• For faculty, students, spin-outs’ staff

• 57 students from 13 UNN departments participated

• 5 projects-winners:

1st Student Elevator Pitch Competition at UNN

+ Innovative Complex Agrochemical+ New Control Method for Toxicants+ Dirt-repellant Paint+ Subjective News Agency+ In vitro Plants Propagation Technology


• 5 students - winners had an intensive coaching program at Purdue university in September 2012

• Individual consultations by Purdue experts on development the projects

1st Student Elevator Pitch Competition at UNN


Student Science and Innovation Communities


Interdepartmental student business incubation of students’ innovative projects with information, and consultancy support, marketing plans’ writing and team building trainings.


Training of external stakeholders (2011-2012):

- About 400 staff members from other Russian universities retrained;

-Short-term training of students ordered by other universities;

- Training program for regional SMEs staff funded by the Government of NN Region

UNN as Innovation Entrepreneurship Hub

Program funded by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science

Next training: 3-15 December 2012, for students from Bashkir State Pedagogical University (Ufa)


Spring 2012: UNN won competition for a grant from Russian Government for development of student organizations (50 mil rub for two years)
