Program DescriptionThe Pharmacy Technician training program prepares the student to work under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.

Some topics covered in the course are: • TheroleofthePharmacyTechnicianincludinglegalissues, prescriptions, compounding and terminology • Themostcommonlyuseddrugs,indications,tradeandgenericnames • Commoncalculationsforaspecificdoseandforadditives in I.V. solutions

Upon successful completion of this program the student should be prepared to take the National Health Associations Examination for Certified Pharmacy Technician (ExCPT).

Employment OpportunitiesStudents may be employed in community pharmacies and hospitals.

Program length is 150contact hours:102 hours classroom + 48 hours pharmacological math

Program Completion RequirementsStudents must attend at least 80% of the 150 total contact hours.
