How do we get Students,Teachers and Community Members engaged and interested in making changes?

We brought Parents, Teachers and Students together. ●  Roots and Shoots and NHS student partners build gardens

●  students gather signatures (and $) to replace the barbed wire fence

We brought speakers to educate the community ●  Connecting to the Neighborhood-Gil Penalosa discusses “Placemaking” and

“Walkability” during the 2014 St Paul Riverfront Corporation 3rd Annual Placemaking Residency.

●  Gil Penalosa leads his “placemaking” walk in the neighborhood. Central is a member of the Lex Ham Community. Mr Penalosa later spoke about how energized he was from meeting members of Central’s community.

●  Oct. 2014- Neighbors, Teachers, Parents, Students and Community Leaders join Mayor Coleman, Council member Thao and others to learn about the project.

●  EOR Architect Kevin Biehn goes over the construction plans with Central Teachers in January 2016
