A Message from Fr. David:
We celebrate the Baptism of the Lord this weekend, let’s call to mind the graces that we each received at that life changing moment when we were purified from sin and born again in the Holy Spirit. As we ponder this great gift of salvation, in the silence of your prayer hear the Father’s voice saying, “This is my beloved in whom I am well pleased.”
I want everyone to return to Mass, and to feel safe doing so. And I would like to thank everyone for your gracious cooperation with the covid regulations and protocols we are following:
• Mask are required to attend Mass. • Please wash/sanitize your hands. • Please don’t leave anything in the pews as you leave. • At the 4pm Saturday and the 7am Sunday Masses, every other pew on the right side of the church is blocked
off for those who feel they need extra space between parishioners. We need volunteers to assist with this, please contact the office.
I know many of you think these are unnecessary and burdensome, while some of you complain that I am not doing enough. Still, I thank you for your cooperation. Please remember for those who feel unsafe, the Bishop has dispensed us from the obligation to attend Mass. Livestreaming is available.
I would like to say that one of the graces from our time in the gym and the parish life center is that we all had to enter through the one main entrance. There was a joyfulness and excitement before and after Mass as our parish family was together. I am happy that so many of you are cooperating with this as we have transitioned into the church. (This also is part of the suggested covid protocol).
Our faith and our lives are filled with symbolic imagery. Another benefit of using the main entrance is that it helps remind us all that we are a pilgrim people, and we are on a journey to the Father. The pilgrimage to the main entrance, passing through the narthex where we quiet our minds and hearts, and then journeying down the aisle toward the sanctuary as we make our way to our pew all serve as reminders of this journey toward heaven. This imagery is lost when we simply slide in and out of the side doors.
I also would like to thank everyone for the prayers for Fr. Knight, and for all priests. I share this beautiful prayer from St. Therese that perhaps we can offer daily, and I would like to remind everyone that gossiping is still a sin.
O Jesus, eternal Priest, keep your priests within the shelter of Your Sacred Heart,
where none may touch them. Keep unstained their anointed hands, which daily touch Your Sacred Body.
Keep unsullied their lips, daily purpled with your Precious Blood.
Keep pure and unearthly their hearts, sealed with the sublime mark of the priesthood.
Let Your holy love surround them and shield them from the world’s contagion. Bless their labors with abundant fruit and
may the souls to whom they minister be their joy and consolation here and in heaven their beautiful and everlasting crown.

resume the academic year 2021-2022. If you
already registered and paid, we will gladly
reimburse the fee, or we can “save” it for this

Next weekend’s special collection is for
Respect Life Ministry
This collection benefits 32 local pregnancy resource centers and 4
maternity homes. It also helps support the Respect Life ministry in our parish. Let us continue to serve the community in this way by giving generously next
weekend to this collection.
