• New Registrar MaryAnn Morrison to start on March 1st.
• Metis citizen of SK and has family in BC.
• Wahkohtowin Project (Registry Review) launched
• Job descriptions being updated for all existing Registry staff
• New organizational chart being revealed to staff on Friday, March 5th
• Goal is to get processing times down• Maximum of 60 days for new applications• Maximum 30 days for renewals

• RFP for new database issued – anticipating at least 6 submissions in March
• Significant increase in citizenship applications following 2020 Annual General Meeting
• Change of address online system to be soft-launched in February
• New MNBC updated citizenship card to be unveiled with additional security features and cultural recognition - March
• Mailing address will be removed to streamline process and reduce administrative burden for staff. -

• 0 cards issued• 942 pending approval for new applications• 149 Children-In-Care applications pending• 270 total new applications received• 206 files were sent for genealogical verification• 3 applications approved and sent for community approval • 713 harvesting renewal reminders• 126 regular renewal reminders• 0 denied applications • 79 renewals processed • 16 lost/stolen cards processed • 158 citizen cards archived-

AdministrationMaking Progress…
• 10 new workstations created by repurposing an executive office + Registry filing room.
• Demolition on new HQ now underway• Exploring additional floor space at Gateway HQ –
as we are already nearing capacity• Existing law office on our 3rd floor location may become available in May • Smaller 2300 sq ft unit available on 17th floor
• A lot of older infrastructure nearing end of life i.e. laptops, printers, furniture
• New phone system in implementation phase but will dramatically improve client experience-

Public Affairs - Communications Making Progress…
• Citizen Connect: Have contacted over 6,500 households since December
• 60%+ of citizens have said MNBC has done a good job of supporting Citizens through the pandemic.
• Increased the overall level of communications from MNBC over the last 5 weeks.
• Media releases and posts have been way more frequent to help better connect with citizens.
• Social media interaction has gone up dramatically i.e. Facebook shares, likes etc…
• Developing new infographics for Budget 2021• Soft launched MeTV at the AGM. Teaser video now public. • Revamping MNBC Online Store and Resource Center

Public Affairs – British Columbia • 3 year-end budget asks have been submitted to
the Province of BC. • Environment $1.4• Health $2.78• Education $4.6
• Provincial budget will be in April 2021. • Minister Rankin submitted video for AGM• MIRR to provide MNBC with $200K in funding to
support increased capacity to manage discussions pertaining to MNRA 3.0 and Dripa Action Plan.
