CHADDY CHATTER 1st May ‘17
Our History Night organised by Rod highlighted some of CEM’s outstanding achievements
over years past. Thanks to Lin, Roy and Lyndon who took us down memory lane with their stories. Information from CEM Past Presidents is currently being gathered by Lin & Rosemary with the aim of documenting our history over the next 12
months in an informal entertaining booklet style. Do you, or someone you know, have editing experience or ambition? – Please contact me. Helpers much appreciated.
This coming week our meeting
is at The Currajong School - a
registered special school in
Darling Rd East Malvern catering for students up
to Year 8. We have long supported Currajong
through student scholarships, gardening and
building projects. We will present the 2017

The invitations have gone out to partners and
friends and last minute arrangements for our Year
12 Transition from School to Career event are
being made. Thanks to Sandi, Lyle and Frank for
helping Bernard, Caroline and myself. We are
looking forward to a big turn out on May 10th. See

CHADDY CHATTER – 1st May 2017
*** News Flash *** ‘Friends of Chadstone/East Malvern Rotary’ - policy
endorsed by the Board.
The Board has endorsed the policy, presented by the Membership Team,
to welcome the ‘Friends of Rotary’ into our Club.
The key points are:
Any Club member can nominate a person to be a Friend of Chadstone/East Malvern Rotary;
Great opportunity for us to be involved with fantastic people doing incredible things;
No fees consistent with relationship to the Club;
Is not a Club membership category and as such has none of the real rights that members do ie to vote
and hold leadership roles; and
Is in addition to partners and spouses however partners and spouse could also elect to be Friends.
Next steps: Read the paper in full as distributed via email;
Consider nominating a person to become a Friend of Chadstone/East Malvern Rotary;
Direct any questions to Project Leader Ros McM or Membership Team Leader Paul R
Rotary Banner No.7 …..starts with Lindesfarne, Tasmania …and ends with The Deepings, Lincolnshire
We need your brainstorming
ideas
What else could we present to a visiting
Club/a Club we are visiting, to replace
the customary banner?
Do you have any small banners from
other Clubs that you want put onto our
traditional banners? I have room for 6
to complete our 15th banner. See Sandi
