• Legislation was passed by WA State Parliament in May 2012, currently awaiting proclamation.

• Regulatory amendments and finalisation expected by December 2013.

• Main Roads, Heavy Vehicle Operations has responsibility for the education and industry communications .

• Initial discussions have already taken place with industry associations.

• External consultants to assist in key communication activities.

• Training of Transport Inspectors & other enforcement officers will be completed prior to implementation.
