31 Years of Designing!
BENEFIT: Chamber members receive EDUCATION through legislative events and free business and entrepreneurial seminars.
This month the Logan County Area Chamber of Commerce would
like to recognize Engelhaupt Embroidery as October’s Business of
the Month. What started out as a way to start a business while being
able to stay home and raise her children has led to 31 years of busi-
ness for Linda Engelhaupt. Linda and her husband Tom grew up in
Logan County and felt this was a good place to raise a family and to
start their business. So in 1983 she decided to join the list of entre-
preneurs who take that leap of faith with the first small step. She
started out just doing wholesale work for other businesses in her
home but branched out into the retail business in 1986 and eventual-
ly focused strictly on the retail endeavors.
Engelhaupt Embroidery now has a Bellefontaine retail store and
two full service travel trailer stores. Tom & Linda’s daughter and
son-in-law, Leslie & Chris Gardisser have joined the family business
and the two travel stores scheduled 35 weeks of shows for the 2014 year. They work together using a color cod-
ed calendar keeping straight who goes where, for how long and who (if anyone) is “manning the store” at home.
Along with their family, long time loyal employee Martha
Marshall is a huge part of the store. Martha helps at shows as
well as keeping the store open when the Engelhaupts are on
the road. Their shows cover more than Ohio too. Linda and
her team travel to Pennsylvania, Michigan, Kentucky, Indiana,
Georgia and now are looking at an opportunity in Mississippi
also! Of course they keep track of requests by Facebook,
email or phone all the time too.
The Engelhaupts know the importance of standing behind
their work too. “We enjoy doing business with hard working
company owners, families, farmers and individuals who want
a quality product with a good name backing it up,” said Linda.
Engelhaupt Embroidery offers a variety of services. Their custom embroidery service includes monograms, let-
tering, custom logos and designs. Engelhaupt Embroidery has been a member of the Logan County Chamber of
Commerce for 25 years. Please join us in congratulating and recognizing Engelhaupt Embroidery as October’s
Business of the Month.

Celebrating 50 Years
BENEFIT: Chamber members receive DISCOUNTS on items from office supplies to BWC premiums.
Visitors Bureau Annual Breakfast Thursday November 6th
For For the past 50 years Marmon Valley Farms has been inviting families,
groups and campers to come and experience a taste of life on the farm.
This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the popular local attraction.
Marmon Valley Farm is an agri-tainment farm park that welcomes
families and groups of all ages to come out and visit the farm.
The farm started when “Uncle Bill” Wiley and “Aunt Phyllis” Wiley opened a camp for children where
they could experience “real” farm life for a week. Over the past 50 years Marmon Valley has ex-
panded their farm and their services. Visitors to the farm can enjoy trail rides, hay rides, the picnic
grounds, the Playbarn, giant swings, the hay tunnels, hiking trails and petting animals. Families or
groups can also plan outings and parties, overnight retreats or attend weekend and summer
camps. Family members Matt and Kathy Wiley along with their five children, Becca Adelsberger,
Daniel Wiley, Lizzy Wiley, Joel Wiley and Josh Wiley all play important parts in the family business.
Steve and Jane (Wiley) Olsen and their children Luke and Tim Olsen are also involved in the family
business.
Over the years Bill and Phyllis Wiley have received numerous awards and been recognized several
times for their services to Logan County. Bill and Phyllis received the Citizen of the Year Award
from the Zanesfield Chamber of Commerce in 2010 and Matt Wiley received the same award in
2012. Bill and Phyllis also received the Lifetime Achievement Award for Christian Camp and Confer-
ence Association Ohio Section in 2012 and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American
Camping Association Ohio Section in 2010.
On October 18th you have the opportunity to gather and celebrate the
legacy started by Uncle Bill and Aunt Phyllis. You can recognize those
who have had life impacting experiences on the farm by attending
Marmon Valley’s 50th Anniversary Celebration and Legacy Banquet.
Please join us in thanking and congratulating Marmon Valley Farm
for their continued support of Logan County.
The Visitors Bureau annual breakfast will be held on Thursday
November 6th at 8am. The location for this event will be The
Logan County Transportation Museum. There will be a light
catered breakfast and Logan County’s area attractions will be
sharing a self—promotion of their businesses.
During the event the Max Evans award will be presented to Bill
and Phyllis Wiley for their contribution to tourism and serving
Logan County.
Please RSVP at 599-5121 if you would like to be our guest at

Celebrating the Life of a Local Legend James Duff was known as a generous and dedicated
man to many who had the pleasure and luck of knowing
him. Mr. Duff is remembered as a hard-working, self–
taught industrialist and dedicated family man. James lost
his battle to a rare and aggressive form of lymphoma,
Tuesday September 16, 2014.
For anyone thinking about starting an entrepreneurial
career, Mr. Duff would be one that you would want to
learn from. His entrepreneurial career began at 10 years
old selling candy bars and popcorn in his father’s Elder
Duff theater in Jackson Center. In 1956 the father-son
team saw a business opportunity. They purchased 200
acres of land along State Route 117 north of Huntsville
and began their own quarry under the name C.E. Duff
and Son Inc. Mr. Duff leaves a legacy strongly rooted in
improving the quality of life in the community; and his legacy and passion lives on his family. James
Duff will be greatly missed by the business community and the residents of Logan County.

Workplace Wellness Grant Program
Employers wanting to improve the health and wellness of their workers can benefit from our newest program,
the Workplace Wellness Grant Program (WWGP). It provides funding to assist employers in establishing
training and programs to reduce health risk factors specific to their employees.
BWC established WWGP to study the effect of a wellness program in the workplace on bringing down incidence
And cost of accidents and illnesses. The goal is to control the escalating cost of workers’ compensation claims
through addressing health risk factors. The WWGP’s collateral goals are also to reduce health-care costs for
Employers, as well as improve the health of the workforce.
