• Wall ladders, straight ladders

• Consist of one section of fixed length

• Most often identified by overall length of beams

• Equipped with folding hooks that provide means of anchoring ladder over ridge of pitched roof, other roof part

• Distributes firefighter’s weight, helps prevent slipping
