• We are certain about our faith because faith is based on God’s Word

• God cannot lie• However, we may not understand

everything right away, we (as Catholics) must work hard to learn our faith

Communal

• Faith happens in a community (the church)

• Even though we respond individually, we are still part of the larger faith community

Free

• God does not force us to believe against our will

• We choose to place our trust and faith in God

Professed

• Faith must be expressed through our actions and words– Examples:

• Our faith must be lived and experienced in order to exist
