Reasons You Should Have a Corporate Meeting or Event Rallying Your Team

Ideas Charisma Productions Network

There are a number of reasons why your business should hold a corporate meeting or event, from team building and morale through product launches to celebrating an anniversary or success.

Coming up with exactly what to do, however, is not always easy. Here are a few corporate meeting and event ideas you might want to consider for your next corporate meeting or event.

Team Building

Usually held over the course of a day or a weekend, depending on how involving you want it to be, a team building event can give your staff and colleagues a valuable boost in morale and increase communication, confidence and camaraderie in a fun and friendly environment.

Your team could find new ways of working together and even learn new skills from a variety of activities including treasure hunts, assault courses, shooting, sailing…even circus skills!

With the beginning of the countdown.... It’s time to greet the New Year with new enthusiasm And may the new dawn bring the freshness in your life like fresh morning dew... And may every morning be like "Starting up a brand new day" On this note Wishing you a very... Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Annual Events

There are plenty of corporate event ideas for rewarding your staff for hard work. You could, for example, hold an annual barbeque in the summer and there is, of course, the office Christmas party too!

There are plenty of other, more unusual events you could hold though. You could hold a garden party, a family fun day - complete with fairground - to entertain whole families or a day out dragon boat racing. The possibilities really are endless.

Training & Development

It’s possible to aid in the training and development of your staff with more fun corporate event ideas than the normal seminars and courses.

Whether you want new team members to get to know one another, coach junior members for greater responsibilities or for senior staff to hone their managerial skills, a training and development event will help your team become the absolute best they can be.

There are now a few companies combining training and development with a fun, entertaining twist through team role play and the like. Definitely worth considering if you find that your staff isn’t all that interested in signing up to standard courses.

Formal Events

Corporate event ideas for more formal occasions like a company anniversary or major product launch could include a dinner dance or lavish banquet. The theme of the event should reflect the occasion, so a 50th year in business should have a gold theme, for example.

Use your imagination and remember that the venue is probably the most important aspect for this type of event.

Want To Make An Impression?

Whether it is impressing existing customers or trying to woo new customers there is one tried and tested corporate event that are sure to work – the golf day! The Japanese, by all accounts, do all their business on the golf course, so if it is good enough for them, it should be good enough for you.

A simple round of golf between four or a full blown competition – it will depend on what you are trying to achieve but if you invite the right people from your address book you could really enhance your reputation with those that matter.

There are plenty of corporate meeting and event ideas you could consider if you put your mind to it – this is just a select few!

Organizing a corporate meeting and or an event involves a huge amount of planning and work. It is common practice to hire a corporate meeting and event production company to handle the majority of the work for you. When looking for a corporate production company it is important you decide on the type of meeting or event you want to host, the location of

the event and how many people will likely attend. That will allow you to choose the right corporate meeting and event production company with the right expertise.

Guide to Organizing Your Next Successful Corporate Meeting and Event

Organizing a corporate meeting and or an event involves a huge amount of planning and work. It is common practice to hire a corporate meeting and event production company to handle the majority of the work for you. When looking for a corporate production company it is important you decide on the type of meeting or event you want to host, the location of the event and how many people will likely attend. That will allow you to choose the right company with the right expertise.

You will also need to have a budget in mind. A meeting and event production company will be able to advise you on what you can and cannot achieve with your budget and then you can adjust accordingly to ensure that you organize the meeting or event properly.

Once you've made these decisions you can begin researching and contacting corporate meeting and event production companies.

A Google search for "corporate meeting and event production company" will give you a long list of potential companies. Take a look at their websites, see what they specialize in, and read any testimonials they may have and make a list of the ones that you think will produce your meeting and event best.

Those companies should have experience in organizing corporate meetings and events of the type, location and size you have in mind. This is where testimonials will be especially useful. Successfully organized corporate meetings and events on behalf of well-known, blue chip companies will give you the confidence that the meeting and event production company can do the same for you.

A corporate meeting and event production company should be able to provide venue finding, lighting, décor, entertainment including band or disco and any other musical entertainment, audio/visual equipment, photography and video services, and all necessary event staff.

Once you have your list - three to five companies should be enough - contact each of the companies and invite them to discuss your requirements and provide a quote.

Meet them in person so you can judge how well you will work together in the planning of your event so that on the day you can concentrate on your guests and not worry about the event itself.

The corporate event company you eventually choose will require an upfront fee on booking confirmation (usually around 10% with further payments due as the event gets closer) as they will incur costs right from the start.

They will begin using suppliers who will require upfront payment themselves, so don't think this is unusual.

The chosen corporate meetings and events production company will work within the budget you set anyway and ensure your event goes to plan and exceed all of your expectations, so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the day.

Outlook Tip: Creating an "Add to Outlook Calendar" Link for Your Events When you’re holding an event, you probably write an email or a blog posting to announce it to your prospects. If you make it easy for people to add your event into their Outlook calendars, chances are they will remember the event and attend. Here is how to create a link to your event:

• Create an appointment in your own Outlook calendar and open it;

• Click on the Office button at the top left, select “Save as”;

• Choose destination where you want to save the file, select “iCalendar Format” in the “Save as Type” menu, click “Save”;

• Upload this file to your website and link to it from the necessary web page, blog posting or email.

*These steps are for Outlook 2007 only. Instructions for other versions of Outlook may vary.
