February 15, 2018
I am pleased to introduce you to our newest publication, the 2018 Pennsylvania Coalition of Public
Charter Schools (PCPCS) Charter School Directory & Resource Guide. This Charter School Directory &
Resource Guide lists all Pennsylvania public charter schools, PCPCS business sponsors, PCPCS Leadership,
as well as other valuable information for public charter schools.
PCPCS is the state’s largest and most active charter organization, and our mission is to strengthen public
education for Pennsylvania students by supporting and advocating for high quality public charter
schools. PCPCS advocates for both brick-and-mortar and cyber charter schools and our work spans
across the Keystone State and includes regional training events, school tours, legislative and legal
engagement, data analytics, and media relations.
Each year, PCPCS solicits contributions from sponsors to help underwrite the important work that we
are doing to advocate for charter schools, leaders, parents, and students. We work with companies,
individuals, and organizations throughout the Keystone State to provide services and information to
charter schools. These partnerships are an important part of the services that PCPCS offers to members.
As you read through the information presented in this directory, please take a moment to learn more
about our PCPCS 2017-2018 Sponsors.
As the Executive Director of PCPCS, I would also like to thank our volunteer Board of Trustees and
Leaders Council members. I truly appreciate your wisdom, leadership, and dedication to the public
charter school movement and look forward to accomplishing many great things in the years to come!
Sincerely,
Ana Meyers Executive Director

February 15, 2018
On behalf of the Pennsylvania Coalition of Public Charter Schools (PCPCS) Board of Trustees, I am thrilled to welcome the inaugural issue of the PCPCS Charter School Directory & Resource Guide. This
Directory and Resource Guide is not simply just a listing of charter schools, but also showcases a community of business partners who represent an array of resources for charter schools.
This Charter School Directory and Resource Guide is intended to make it easy for charter schools to learn
about and contact PCPCS business sponsors. Although information about our sponsors can be found on our website, this guide brings the information together in one handy reference tool.
I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our business members for their generous sponsorship this year. Because of your support, PCPCS is able to continue doing excellent work for charter schools across
the Keystone State. Your support is not something we take lightly and is very much appreciated by everyone connected with PCPCS.
Please take a moment to learn more about the 2017-2018 Business Sponsors for the Pennsylvania
Coalition of Public Charter Schools.
Sincerely,
Antoinette Rath, Ed.D.

Brian H. Leinhauser
Partner, The MacMain Law Group, LLC
Brian Leinhauser is a founding Partner of The
MacMain Law Group, LLC. He concentrates his practice
in the areas of Charter School law, labor and
employment matters, non-profit and religious institution
representation, and small business law.
As a former high school teacher, Brian brings a
practical and results oriented perspective to the
representations where education institutions are
involved. He leads the Education Law Practice at The MacMain Law Group where he combines
years of legal knowledge, with the practical experience of having attorneys who have worked for
schools, colleges and universities. Public and private universities, colleges, and K-12 schools
face special challenges relating to a multitude of issues. Title IX compliance, investigations, and
litigation present unique responsibilities on colleges and high schools in a complex and sensitive
area of campus life. Special Education, employment contracts and negotiations, student safety
and discipline, and property issues are some of the many areas that are addressed by our
Education Law Practice.
The MacMain Law Group serves schools throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey in
various capacities ranging from comprehensive preventative counseling, the creation and/or
review of policies and procedures to providing outside general or consulting legal counsel to the
daily “quick-questions” and issues that arise and demand immediate guidance. These include
questions regarding compliance with state and federal law, including Title IX and Title VII. We
also provide training on how to handle student disciplinary issues and counsel and advice on
maintaining the delicate balance required when student behavior is being examined and
discipline is being considered.
We have assisted charter schools in applications for new charters, hearings before local
Boards of school directors, appeals to the Commonwealth Charter School Appeal Board, and
defending non-renewal and revocation proceedings. He is familiar with the Pennsylvania
Charter School Law and all its obligations and requirements applicable to such institutions,
having represented charter schools in the Commonwealth for years. Brian also provides all
education institutions with advice on legal issues that face them including regulatory compliance,
real estate, litigation, employment, special education and governance. He has advised clients on
managing and conducting internal investigations and how to address student disciplinary
investigations and hearings while following the directives from state and federal Departments of
Education and the Office of Civil Rights. Brian has advised clients on Title IX and student safety
issues.
Brian has spoken at conferences and seminars advising private and public employers in
best employment practices, policy review, and matters involving employment discrimination
claims and advised school clients on policies regarding student contact, disciplinary
enforcement, and special education matters.

Metcalfe, a Philadelphia firm of sixteen architecture, exhibit, and graphic design professionals, works with schools and museums. We know that education can happen anywhere; in the classroom, in the hallway, on the playing field, and in the woods. We are in the business of creating fun, engaging, informal learning experiences and we structure our design process to reflect that goal.
Education and Fun Working in museums has demonstrated to us that people learn when they are having fun. We believe that play is the basis of informal learning and can reinforce your institution's educational goals. We are especially skilled at creating moments of informal learning that are centered on social spaces. Our work at the nature play spaces at Abington Friends School, Springside Chestnut Hill Academy’s VidCAST media lab, the “Eco-Village” at Camp JRF reflect this thinking.
Designing to your Vision Our experience with varied cultural institutions has shown us the importance of understanding an organization's mission and identity before starting the design process. We begin each project by working with your staff to identify end-users, a group with a varying spectrum of design needs. Very young children, pre-teens, adolescents, young and older adults, as individuals or in groups — each requires careful consideration in the design process to assure rich and accessible experiences.
We can help you create a charter school that reflects your unique vision of learning. Metcalfe has created many school projects, including major renovations and new construction at Mastery Charter’s Gillespie Campus, SCH Academy’s Lower School, Southwest Leadership Academy Charter, Wissahickon Charter School, the Community Partnership School, and Greene Street Friends.
Cost Our office keeps cost issues on the table throughout a project. We assemble budget numbers early on, reviewing them with you at critical project milestones, working regularly with cost estimators, contractors, and construction managers from the earliest phases of the design process. Most of our senior staff have worked in the construction industry and are skilled at creating cost effective designs that consider long-term operation.
