CTIA stays abreast of industry requirements and the

demands that are placed on new arrivals, which means

that we know what young, aspirant chefs need to succeed in the ever-expanding global hospitality

environment. Starting your career with a strong foundation will stand you in good stead as you enter

and progress in this industry.

Being a trained chef opens doors to a culinary path filled with diverse opportunities. These include

food styling; becoming a food critic, writer or editor; working in catering companies, hotels,

restaurants or cruise liners; lecturing; consulting; retail and entrepreneurship.

To grow in this industry, the four most important personality traits for any young chef are a positive

attitude, a strong grasp of the fundamental principles, boundless passion and unflinching

commitment.

CTIA opened its doors in 2009 with the first campus being in Pretoria. Currently the group has grown

to 3 very successful campuses in South Africa’s main cities, namely Pretoria, Cape Town and

Durban.

Centurion Campus

The school’s main campus, also its flagship campus, it situated in Centurion, which lies between the main cities of Pretoria and Johannesburg. It houses the school’s head office and has three large training kitchens, as well as three theory lecture rooms. A shuttle service to and from the Gautrain station is available for all students. Known as the Jacaranda City, Pretoria, South Africa’s capital city, is prettiest during the spring months, when the purple-blossomed jacaranda trees are in full splendor, lining the wide avenues and adorning gardens and parks with their lilac-hued loveliness.

Cape Town Campus

Durban Campus The Durban campus is situated close to the hustle and bustle of the city centre, where public transport is readily available at all times. This campus has two training kitchens and one theory lecture room. With its long stretches of sandy beaches, balmy air and warm waters, as well as its wonderful mix of cultures, Durban is a dream destination for those looking to experience a little bit of everything. At CTIA, we commit to giving each student a sterling education made up of the best culinary skills possible. We have a thirst and a passion to see our students reach their full potential, and we achieve this through individualised attention that acknowledges students’ personal strengths and weaknesses; along with heaps of encouragement to keep trying until you succeed.

The Western Cape campus is located in one of the most sought-after student towns in South Africa where some of the countries brightest minds have set foot. Nestled in the heart of the Stellenbosch winelands the campus boasts two modern practical kitchens and two theory classrooms. From restaurants and pubs, wine and Champaign tasting, food and music festivals to theatres, the town, rich in its history is vibrant and offers an array of activities to keep you entertained.

Stellenbosch is small enough that the entire city centre can easily be covered on foot, making commuting in the student hub centre easy and accessible.

TO THE NETHERLANDS, WHAT’S NEXT?

To get a work permit in The Netherlands, you need a social security number. In the Netherlands, this is called a BSN Number. This number need to be registered before you can start working in The Netherlands and this is non-negotiable.

To get a BSN number you need the following: EU passport, unabridged certified birth certificate obtained in SA and a registered address. If you would like to stay in a student hotel, It is possible to register this address.

The NH Hotel group will supply a contract offer while the student is in South Africa. The signing of the official contract will be done in person in the Netherlands. For the completing of this process, please make sure and can only be completed with the following; BSN number, registered address and a Dutch bank account number

The NH Hotel group abides 100% to all rules and regulations and will not be flexible on any of the above-mentioned points.
