19 trillion gallons of rain flooded 30 - 40,000 homes in Houston and displaced 50,000+ people. You will be His hands/feet, ears/eyes, hearts/hugs as we help with the restoration efforts in Houston.

Construction: Trinity Klein Lutheran Church in Spring, TX is coordinating reconstruction efforts and is

looking forward to CAMP assisting homeowners with drywall -- install and finish. Materials will be on site --

we provide labor. Mission trip assignments are very fluid, so worksites will be evaluated on a daily basis

and crews adjusted accordingly. It’s even possible that other types of work may be necessary. If you are

willing to be flexible, learn, and share the love of Jesus Christ, then get registered!

ALL SKILL LEVELS ARE NEEDED and WELCOME!

NOTE: If you have asthma, COPD, or other respiratory concerns, Trinity Klein does NOT recommend you

participate in reconstruction at this time.

Outreach: Volunteers will assist at local non-profits, including two days at a food pantry that feeds 600

families each day.

We will be working five FULL days (Monday-Friday). Here is a typical work day:

7:30 a.m. Breakfast and Devotions

8:00 a.m. Depart for work sites

Noon Lunch at work sites

5 p.m. Leave work sites

6:30 p.m. Dinner at Salem Lutheran Church

7:30 p.m. Bible Study, Team Building, Team Meetings

8:30 pm Respite

NOTE: Chicago Area Team Members will depart early on SATURDAY, JAN 13

Salem Lutheran Church/School in Tomball, TX is where we will lay our heads at night, have meals together, and nightly devotions/team meetings. Bring your own bedding for your cot (no bunks) in gender specific classrooms that have been converted to dorm rooms. Hot showers are available, and the church provides a towel service (so leave that at home!). Meals are served in the dining hall and there is a large room for gatherings. A fitness center is also available for volunteers. Visit Salem’s website at www.salem4u.com

Breakfast of kolaches and breakfast tacos is served at 7:30ish a.m.

Lunches are prepared for volunteers and consist of a sub sandwich and bag of chips. CAMP will be providing fruit, as well. Volunteers are encouraged to bring a water bottle to take to the job site, as well as personal snack items.

Dinner is served in the atrium from 6:30 - 6:45 p.m.

Dorm rooms, bathrooms, and common areas should be kept tidy at all times.

Nearby hotels include LaQuinta and Hampton Inn.

Registration is a two-part process:

1. Register with heartfortexas.com a. Click on VOLUNTEER b. Click on HOME RECOVERY c. Complete the form -- you are registering as a team -- Chicago Area Mission Partnership -- 20

people; you DO need housing unless you are making different arrangements; arrival date 1/7; departure date 1/13; work days 1/8 to 1/12; when asked for payment for housing, simply click SUBMIT at the bottom to bypass this stage.

d. Go to steps 2 and 3 of the registration process to complete skills assessment, insurance information, sign waivers, and complete a background check. Salem Lutheran is a church and active school. Therefore, all volunteers who will be in proximity of children must complete a background check.

2. Complete the three (3) registration and release forms included in this booklet and mail along with a check for trip charges to Immanuel Lutheran Church in East Dundee by December 8, 2017. You must have received a tetanus shot in the past ten years. You must have proof of medical insurance.

(Yep…..we know there is redundancy in the registration and release forms, but all entities need their own, so it’s important you fill out all forms completely. Thanks for your understanding.)
