Smita Shah, a Chicago, IL, entrepreneur and executive, balances corporate life with civic responsibilities. President and founder of SPAAN Tech, Inc., Smita Shah also sits on various boards, including that of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Childrens Hospital of Chicago, IL.

Located at 225 East Chicago Avenue, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Childrens Hospital provides health care services along with facilities for medical research. To ensure that it continues to provide the best care possible, the nonprofit relies on the support of the public.

Recently, Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall donated $50,000 to the hospitals mental health awareness campaign. Marshall donated the funds through his charitable foundation, Project 375, which builds awareness about mental health and supports programs that further research and treatment in this area. The contribution will be used to improve behavioral support services provided through Chicago Public Schools. As a result, students will have access to greater social and emotional learning support to handle issues like aggression and trauma.
