accessories. A system with chilled beams is suitable

for ventilation and cooling for high cooling demands

and/or where there is a requirement for individual

regulation of the temperature.«

Flexicool® is a complete and quality packed chilled beam system that offers various solutions for cooling/heatingcombined with highly efficientventilation. Lighting and controlequipment are available as accessories.

Choose between inductionsupply air beams or passive convection beams in variousshapes and sizes suitable for integration in false ceilings or forexposed installation.

Function of chilled beamsIn systems with chilled beams, the air is cooled by means of coldwater, and the supply airflowrate is dimensioned in a way that fulfils the requirements of goodair quality. Flexicool® chilledbeams are a comprehensiverange of air conditioning beamssuitable for most applicationswhere functions that ensure optimum comfort in the roomare considered of great impor-tance. are designed to ensure adraught-free and quiet indoorclimate, even with greater cooling effects.

Induction beamsFlexicool® IQID, IQFC, IQTA andIQSA are integrated systems forventilation, cooling and heating, fulfilling most needs for indoorclimates. The induction beamsare designed to manage highcooling effects. The beams havea patented system for the adjust-ment of flow, cooling effect andflow pattern. The system can beadapted to suit the changingconditions in the room.

Passive convection beamsFlexicool® passive chilled beamsQPSA, QPBA and QPDA cool aroom by means of convection. A passive chilled beam (convec-tion beam) has no supply air, butis based on the principle that circulating air is caused to flowdown through the cooling coilby gravity flow natural convec-tion circulation. The air is sup-plied to the room via a separatesupply air system.

The chilled beam Flexicool® IQIDis an integrated system for ventilation, cooling and heating,fulfilling most needs for indoorclimate.

The IQID chilled beam is a very flexiblechilled beam that is available as a basicmodel, but can also be equipped with anumber of functions to provide a multi-functional chilled beam. The followingfunctions are available for IQID: Comfortcontrol, function for high air flow (2 holerows), Flow Pattern Control (FPC airdeflector), heat, control and regulationequipment, lighting and provision for asprinkler system.

IQID has a covered upper side and isintended for flush-mounting in false ceilings and has dimensions adapted to afalse ceiling module of 600 mm.

Chilled Beams with FPC (Flow Pattern Control)

Our IQ Chilled Beam range istotally unique with its FPC (Flow Pattern Control) functionthat provides high flexibility innew buildings or refurbish-ments. The combination of FPCand comfort control gives the IQbeam its unique characteristics.

Consultants and customers have sincelong asked for a chilled beam that can beadjusted almost like a ceiling diffuser. This is to fulfil the requirements for the best possible indoor climate.

Now the solution is here. The IQ ChilledBeams with the unique Flow Pattern Control (FPC) where the airflow can bedirected up to 45 degrees through integrated vanes.

Different directions can be set at sectionsof 300 mm in the beam.

The flow pattern is easily and safelyadjusted by a simple operation. FPC isavailable for induction air beams only.

A combination of different angles on one side is possible.

SimulationsIn WinDon, the flow patternin a room can be simulatedfor mixing as well as displacement ventilation and for active chilled beams. Eachrelevant operation can be displayed on screen, for botha vertical section and horizon-tally. Cooling requirement calculations can also be madein the program.

WinDon

We have one of Europe’s mostextensive laboratories for testing ventilation products.This enables us to continuallytest new and existing products.

Our laboratory is unique since it is equippedwith all components required for an entireventilation system. The products are testedin testing rooms designed to simulate

“real life” environments, for example, anoffice or conference room.

We are able to study sound levels, airflow/balancing, exhaust risks, comfort and control strategies within the laboratory. We are also able to see how the productsperform in real life situations.

In one of the laboratories there is a measure-ment robot that measures temperatures andair flow speeds. This enables us to deter-mine throw lengths and comfort zones andto measure cooling effects.

We also carry out full scale tests with adjustments of room dimensions and loads.

Additional calculations can be done withCFD calculations. CFD (Computer FluidDynamics) is an advanced method of calculation that can be used to determine air movements in a room, for example.
