The 7890B also applies single filament TCD technology which contributes to little signal drift. The auto-ranging FID and integrated SCD/NCD (sulfur or nitrogen chemiluminescence detector) provides the capacity to detect and quantitate from parts-per-billion to parts-per-thousand in a single injection.2 Time-saving features such at the Large Valve Oven (LVO) and Low Thermal Mass (LTM) allow users to combine methods and increase throughput with rapid heating and cooling. The Multi-mode Inlet (MMI) acts as an adjustable temperature vaporizing injector, allowing for cold split-less and large volume injections. (Fig. 3) Agilent’s Inert Flow Path ensures unmatched sensitivity for semi-volatile compounds throughout the process. (Fig. 4) The unit also utilizes eco-friendly features including alternative carrier gases, sleep/wake modes, and helium conservation, which save valuable resources.
