Christiansburg Public Input Session August 15, 2017

- Feasibility Study in 2014 showed needs in Christiansburg schools

-Expansion of Falling Branch was the top priority to address overcrowding in elementary schools

-Need to address other elementary schools and high school with limited funds

-Current plan requires no tax increase

Why Now?

-Presentation on the current plan

- Public Input Opportunity -Use sticky notes to write down questions, comments or things we need to consider for each phase -Six stations, first station number is on agenda -As you move through stations, leave your sticky note and participate in dialogue -10 min at each station -Public Address following input session (3 minutes per speaker)

- We will compile every response and present them to the School Board on September 19.

Phase 1.1 Football Turf Rubberized Track $1.5 Million Spring 2018

Phase 1.2 Softball Field Baseball Stand $600,00 Summer 2019

Station 2

Phase 1.3 Locker Rooms $900,000 Concession Restroom Entrance $1 million Spring 2020

Station 3

Phase 1 – 2018-2021

• Land Acquisition for New NW/Belview-Area Elementary

Station 4

Phase 2

New NW/Belview Area Elementary (possibly using previous design at EMES/PFES) 2022-2024

Station 5

Phase 2

New Academic Building at CHS New Gym at CHS 2022-2024

Phase 3

Upgrade/Renovate Current CHS Building 2024-2025

Station 6

-Compile data and present to School Board on September 19

- School Board approves plans for building projects in Christiansburg on October 17

- Christiansburg project plans are presented to the Board of Supervisors on October 30
