THE PARISH AS ONE BODY “If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole body were hearing, where would the sense of smell be? But as it is, God placed the parts, each one of them, in the body as he intended… The eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I do not need you,’ nor again the head to the feet, ‘I do not need you.’ Indeed, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are all the more necessary . Now you are Christ’s body, and individually parts of it. “ (1 Cor. 12:17-25)

A MESSAGE FROM FR. MIKE PONTARELLI, O.S.M. “I should like you to be free from anxieties” that’s what St. Paul tells us in the second lesson this week. Above all else, anxieties distract us from true worship of God. The role of the Mama is taught in Fiddler On the Roof, when the scene and song “Tradition” was presented: “Who must know the way to make a proper home, a quiet home, a kosher home? Who must raise the family and run the home, so Papa's free to read the holy books? The Mama, the Mama! Tradition!” Ah, to live in a quiet proper home, a quiet home, being free to sit and read the holy books!
The parish annual financial report was inserted into last week’s bulletin; soon it will be available on-line. Soon in the regular mail you will receive information and the appeal for the 2015 PSA appeal from the Diocese of Orange: Proud to be Catholic, Living Our Faith. Supporting your local parish and the Diocese of Orange both can cause you anxiety!
I ask that you prayerfully consider your contributions to your church and other charities. Your contribution to the parish is necessary; it allows us to fulfill our vision and mission of being a People of God with liturgy, faith-formation, and providing opportunities for all to enrich their faith. Your consistent parish donation, weekly or monthly, allows us to set our budget on a strong fiscal footing so that we can provide our services and maintain our parish asset. Knowing that I can count on your donation relieves my anxiety! If you choose you can set up electronic giving to our parish via the web-site: www.stjulianachurch.org electronic giving has its own space on the left column.
The Diocese of Orange also provides services to the People of God in the diocese. The many services of the diocese reflect the good will of 62 parish communities and faith centers that make us the diocese. No rocket science is involved, the diocese projects its budget and services from the PSA appeal. As you contribute to the diocese you relieve the anxiety of the bishop! If you choose you can set up electronic giving to the PSA appeal via the web-site: www.orangeCatholicFoundation.org. Please indicate that you are from St. Juliana Falconieri parish!
Good people that you are, you are financially extended in so many ways. Both Bishop Vann and I are grateful for your on-going generosity.
Thank you each and every one who made the grammar school open house such a success. I saw and heard just wonderful things. Some twenty-five new families expressed interest in our school. St. Juliana Falcons; administrators, teachers, staff, parents, and students, YOU ARE SHARP. Thank you so much! God bless you all again and again.
Now, on to sit and read the Holy Book. My prayers are for you.
Know you are being prayed for this week, the 4th week of our 50 Weeks of Prayer!

You have seen the children dis-missed from Mass right before the readings only to return after the prayer intentions. So what hap-pens in between? Where are they taking them? Well it’s really no secret or a surprise. The children are lead away to a place where they celebrate exactly what the
adults are celebration in the church, but in a way and manner that they understand. We always have need for adults (over 18) to lead our children and assistants (6 grade and older) to make this ministry strong so we can make our Catholic faith real and relevant to our children’s experience of the world. This ministry is not time consuming and there is very little prep-aration involved. If you want to know more, call Mike McHenry
at 714-853-1193 or email [email protected].
You will be glad you did!

May the Lord be with you and may you always know his forgiveness.
Last Saturday many of our children who will be receive their First Reconciliation spent time learning
about God’s love! They studied Luke 15 where
the stories of Gods forgiveness is found.

The St. Juliana Parent Club will be hosting its annual Fish Fry beginning Friday, February 20, and it will continue every Friday of Lent, including Feb. 27, March 6, March 13, March 20, and March 27. This event is a wonderful opportunity to bring our school, parish, and community together. Last year’s proceeds helped sup-port the education of students at St. Juliana Falconieri School.
St. Juliana School is a WCEA/WASC accredited K-8 elementary school serving a multi-ethnic enrollment of nearly 300 students from Fullerton, Anaheim, Placentia, Brea, Yorba Linda, and surrounding communities. The school’s fundraising events support pro-grams such as technology, art, science, as well as after-school sports. We ask your support of the Fish Fry. You may make a monetary donation, or food items to contribute to the dinner preparations are also greatly appreciated. Your donation will be acknowledged in the evening program, menu, and the school newsletter. Your con-tribution is 100 percent tax-deductible. Please fill out the Sponor Information form and send to the St. Juliana School Office, 1320 N. Acacia Ave., Fullerton, CA 92831~attn: Fish Fry.
Thank you for your support, and we look
forward to seeing you at Fish Fry!
